 They were always too far away... the closest I can think of was after she left The Hound and talked to that guy in the boat that she wanted to go North before deciding to go to Braavos__________________

It makes sense now because her journey to the North would be much later and therefore prolonging that reunion with Jon.

Considering she used the techniques she learned over there to kill the NK, it makes sense
