Did they give a reason why they didn't push through with the SW thingy?

According to this they dropped SW because they gave priority to their Netflix deal.

Thanks! I didn't know about this Netflix deal. After reading that article, I think they decided to drop SW because of the toxic fans plus also the Netflix deal paid them more.

well, considering how the backlash of the ending on GOT went, and already knowing how the SW fandon can be, it does seem like the smarter choice to go another route since they had the opportunity

I'm glad there was no social media when the HP books and movies were out as I can just imagine the toxic levels that would have been.

^OMG I can imagine how bad it would be I'm not part of the HP fandom, but from what you told me it doesn't seem like a fun thing to get into those ship wars

It wasn't. One thing that HP has taught me though is that I shouldn't be a snowflake. That board toughed me up. It's kinda like with the Red Wedding. Once we get past the initial shock, we'll be fine moving forward.

Yep. And you know which fandoms are the most interesting around here.

It really became the Jon & Tormund love story in the end.
