My weekend is great... I'm hanging with family and friends, since my sister is visiting this weekend

My sister lives in Rio which is like 1800km away, so she only comes once or twice per year. She got a week off of work, so she decided to come visit now

Now that she'll be starting her residency, we really don't know when she'll have time off... First year residents don't have the luxury of picking their days off, so odds are they always get on call during holidays so she'll probably visit in a normal week for us.

Wow, she's a nurse? That's a tough but exciting jobs. They normally don't have fixed weekends too right? And they're definitely on call even during holidays.

She's a doctor like me. And you're right, usually we have to get shifts during weekends as well as every other holiday... first year residents usually get the worst shifts, the ones that nobody else wants it's not easy, but it's part of it

^ A very rewarding but tough job. My mother works in cardiovascular and the hours and work is very demanding. I believe that people who work in that profession don't get the recognition that they deserve. It's amazing that you both chose to become doctors, so I imagine your personality is very similar to hers?

I'm going away to Italy for a couple of weeks. It's that time of the year when I need to go away and find my happy place.

Vicki you are right, it is very rewarding most of the time Dealing with people are always a bit tricky
Oh your mom's area of work is tough!! Cardiovascular was one of my least favorites

I really hope you have a good time in Italy, Vicki! Taking time for yourself is an amazing thing to do

Wooooooow. I'm so impressed with doctors because you guys study a lot for your profession. I don't have doctors in my family but I have 3 aunts that are nurses.

Beach. I leave on Wednesday and come back Saturday. It's month end for me too plus I need a day to catch up on work so I'll be gone here for a week.

^ I have the utmost respect for nurses... they work so hard and sometimes are not even recognized for it.

I have finished my shopping for my vacation.. Just need to do my business accounts, meet a client. Then I will be leaving on Thursday. Can't wait to leave now.

Now I work around 40hours per 5 days/week.... so it's pretty good I don't take shifts on weekends or nights anymore. right after I finished Med School now that was another story, I used to work/get shifts all the time, but see I'm an anxious person and getting emergency shifts really drives me nuts, so a few years ago I've decided that it wasn't worth all the nervousness that I passed through, so I've decided to quit the county hospital and just stick to a private practice.
My sister always says that I'll never get the big bucks like this, but I'm good with this life, I get the money to pay the bills, take some vacation every now and again.... life is good and no stress
