Yeah I heard Watchman was violent; but I kind of expect that from Zack Synder at this point I remember thinking that when I watched Sucker Punch too

Yea I just feel maybe would need to rewatch it to give a real reason outside of violent - but maybe also felt their team felt like a knockoff and wasn't really feel attached to any characters - maybe only felt any liking to Rorschach

Why does it matter if they added characters that weren't in the comics? I mean lots of people do that.. like Gotham for starters (Fish Mooney wasn't in comics, she was a made up character for the show, but she's one of my favs anyway).
The comics yes, but really I think anything by Alan Moore is good. Certainly that I've read. I think it does matter if characters have large roles in films that they were not in the original source. But for this film I think that there was an issue with rights to some of the characters, so The Invisible Man was someone who became invisible with a new name & quick reference to having acquired instead of inventing the formula. I think the addition of Tom Sawyer was to make the film more more appealing to an American audience. It's not surprising that happens, just disappointing I think. Dorian Grey was also added the film to I'd guess provide a younger looking love-interest of Mina Harker instead of Allan Quartermaine who was of course played by Sean Connery. By going for the PG-13 rating I think they really toned down the darker elements to Mina. Anyway it's probably better to see the film before reading the books for those that have done neither.

Yeah. Maybe you'll like it a second time around. It really did stay true to the graphic novel I thought & nothing was censored or left out that I recall, though remember it is quite a long film compared to most comic book movies.

RR decided he didn't do well in DC and went over to Marvel with Deadpool?
I don't think that was it. I mean He was in 1 DC film only, so I'd guess there would be other reasons, but even as a fan of Green Lantern I'd guess it would be funner to play the role of ''Deadpool'' in general. Is he only doing Marvel films? I didn't know that. He was also in ''R.I.P.D.'' though in 2013 which was by Dark Horse.

Yeah. It didn't too well at the box office compared to how much the film cost to make though.
