Superman: The Movie, the 1978 film with Christopher Reeve in the Man of Steel suit, will screen in more than 500 movie theaters across the U.S. on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time, and again on Tuesday, Nov. 27. The return comes in time for the 40th anniversary of the film’s premiere and the 80th anniversary of the character’s creation.

Directed by Richard Donner, Superman: The Movie was Reeve’s first time as Kal-El, grappling with Lex Luthor and spinning around the world (literally) to save Lois Lane. Mask of the Phantasm, meanwhile, is a crown jewel on Conroy’s legacy of Batman. The film followed the Caped Crusader working to clear his name after the gruesome murders of mob bosses.

Having seen the movie like 50 times , won’t pay to see it ! Saw it at least 4 times in theater and had 3 dvd versions . Mask of the phantasm Is possible .

Frankly even though a lot of critics panned superman 4, Superman vrs Clark Kent was one of the best one on one fights for Reeve Superman .
Alhough Final battle superman 2 was off the charts and one of my all-time superhero fight scenes . That generation of movies was more the actors not animated CGI

Sarah, you're in Canada, right? The release is just in the U.S. I think.

I wouldn't pay to see them either. I'm sure some people went and enjoyed it on the big screen. Not something I would bother with though. I also haven't seen Mask of the Phantasm, but it makes me want to watch it.

That's an interesting perspective and a good point. I wish more movies were more the actors than CGI in current time.

Brando’s Big Payday Helped 1976’s ‘Superman’ Fly Into Theaters

From the doomed planet of Krypton, two parents launch a spaceship carrying their infant son to earth. Here he grows up to become Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter for the Metropolis Daily Planet. Please check back regularly for theater listings for the December 3 event date.

The Oscars had their in memorial tribute. The orchestra played music from the original Superman.

Margot's tribute is about 49: minutes in.

i wonder how many more Superman films CR would've done, if he hadn't suffered that terrible accident and paralysis? such a sad and unfortunate cutting short of his career and ultimately, his life. rest in peace, Christopher Reeve.
