16 is better than 13. I thought FOX gave them 13 last year, to see if they got an audience for it, and ratings.

I don't understand the reasoning for only 16 this year. Maybe the cost?

At any rate, I hope we find out sooner rather than later.

I do remember reading that 16 is the limit of episodes that Matt Nix and he doesn't want 22 or so episodes for the show.

16 is probably the maximum number of episodes he feels he can produce without padding the season with filler or causing the overall quality to drop. Even the Netflix Marvel shows have been called dragged out with only 13 episodes. Some British shows have a hard time making more than 6, and it shows. Doctor Who dropped to 10 this year.

That is true .. DW did drop even than it felt strange.
