In interviews they talk about the family that is blood related (The Struckers) and the one you choose (Eclipse, Polaris, Blink, and Thunderbird) and how these two family will comes together because of common cause, but who knows I wouldn't discount that possibly.

Oh so it seems like they might not be blood related? Just a family like, friends that are so close they're pretty much family.
