That's the key to good music.. Great lyrics

That's why I love Kelly Clarkson, she has amazing songs with great messages in them!

For some reason I tend to treat vocals as another instrument and automatically ignore the lyrics most of the time. But it's great when you find singers and bands whose lyrics you can respect.

I do agree that a voice is an instrument too but it's even more beautiful when it's singing beautiful lyrics

What are some of your fav artists then?

My December is cool yes! Though I do love Stronger as well! or Piece by Piece

Definitely, then the song is a true fave. The only perk of ignoring the lyrics is that bad ones don't ruin a good melody, lol.

At the moment, System of a Down (haven't listened to them in years, but their reunion made me nostalgic) and Flagitious Idiosyncrasy in the Dilapidation (a Japanese band I've only discovered recently). In general, Arch Enemy. And Linkin Park will always be special for me because they were the first band I ever loved. What are your favorites?

I don't think I've heard the whole album, but the Piece by Piece song I loved.

haha that's a good point yes

I am going to see System of a Down soon.. Going to a Rock festival with boyfriend, usually not my choice per se but they are going to be there as is Blink182 and Linkin Park so that's pretty cool already in my book!

Invincible and Heartbeat Song are also from that album. They're singles that were released and I think did pretty well.. Also pretty great songs, especially Invincible, great lyrics!

I always have issues with remembering band or artist names That's my biggest trouble, I like a lot of music... In general the melody has to be good and it has to be good singing.

F.e. Chained to the Rhythm by Katy Perry is okay but the other new songs aren't my kind of thing. It's just odd (no offense to Katy fans, but I think she's done better?)

Lady Gaga is pretty awesome too! I watched a few live performances of her this week! Usually I just check youtube and I go from live to live performances sometimes... Live performances make me appreciate a true artist...
