Yeah... I think that was the writers issue....
The ONLY way I see that working where Leonard leaves the group and Mick stays was if they had Mick really not be Leonard friend anymore when he turned to Chronos... and he decided it was time for him to stop being Leonard's sidekick.

Trying to think of someway it would have worked. lol
