I mentioned it on the LoT board and that's exactly what they did with John Barrowman... and I like him a lot but Merlyn got so shoved into everything that he became so unwatchable and a joke of a character.

Meryln was really a serious threat as a character in his early Arrow days and than suddenly it was like he wasn't and he was over staying is stay.

UNTIL!!! Legends of TOmorrow! Him getting together with LoD was the best thing that happened to his character.

^ I agree which is why I am for letting the character leave and when the writers think up a great story arc, bring them back that way we can actually miss the character and be so happy they are back!
