Technically I could, but I've made a personal decision that I cannot, in good conscience, continue to support Netflix. There has been a lot of content on the platform that I have found morally offensive, but it's promotion of the movie Cuties, with it's sexual exploitation of young girls, was the final straw. I know there a lot of people who might disagree with me, and obviously I don't judge anyone who continues to subscribe. Like I said, unsubscribing was just something that I personally felt compelled to do. It was not an easy decision, because there are several shows (including The Crown), that I will miss terribly.

I thought that movie was meant to criticize that part of culture but either way it's an understandable decision then Keri and it's good you keep to your values

That is what the creator has said, and that was possibly one of the intentions of the film - to criticize and bring awareness to the issue. But from everything I've seen, they exploited the young actresses in the movie in order to do so, which was wrong and completely unnecessary.

To be fair, I haven't seen the full movie - only reports from others who watched the whole thing. However, the short clips and scenes that I have seen made my stomach turn - lingering close-up shots on the private areas of these girls and various other suggestive and uncomfortable images. They didn't have to sexualize young girls in order to denounce the sexualization of young girls.

Anyway, enough of that. Like I said, Cuties was just one of several reasons I decided to cancel.

Again, I'll try to add a few comments on your rewatch threads when I get a chance.

Yeah, if I always stuck to my all of my principles, most current tv shows and movies would be off limits and I would never watch anything ever. I'm not that strong. As a Christian, it's certainly difficult to have integrity and participate in the culture sometimes. We all just have to do our best.
