I didn't know much about the history of this incident. It was great to see the Queen give Lord Mountbatten a dressing down! I knew she wouldn't back a coup! It did remind me of recent politics and did give me hope we will get through the current crisis eventually.
I look forward to seeing more of Mountbatten in future episodes. __________________

it really was strange to see Dickie be a part of something like that. I bet it's hard for him to be sent away but it's something that woulda happened eventually anyways.
really liked his scene with Philip's mom. wonder what they were like as kids. another thing, I was kinda worried for a second that the Porchey topic came up bw E and P again thought they had put that behind them well enough with that unforgettable speech by E about Philip being the only one she's "ever loved" but I'm glad Philip put it away quickly and they had a nice tender moment __________________

It was nice to see her doing something she loves for a change.

I like this ep. I'm glad they gave Lord Mountbatten a whole ep because we need to care about him. Actually I think he means well but he's taking a huge risk with this coup attempt. That conversation with the nun shed light on Dickie. He's not gonna sit idly and do nothing. He'll do what it takes to serve & save his country and I like that in him.
I recognized Porchey right away when they were watching the polo match. The casting is so superb. I wasn't even thrown off with the change in cast. I just felt like they were all older. And I agree with you Joanna. I was worried that P&E were going to argue about Porchey again but I'm glad to know that these are times when their marriage was all good. The way Philip was questioning Elizabeth about Porchey gave me knots in my stomach. It was the same feeling I had in S2. Kudos to Olivia & Tobias for making me feel this way and stepping into these roles like they've been doing it for 3 years now. __________________

He's very devoted to his country! I liked the moment with his sister

I do still wonder what Porchey feels since the actor gives off the same vibe as the one before him, being smitten with the Queen __________________

I'm glad the transition to the new actors was smooth. I was worried I wouldn't know who anyone was!

I did notice that too, Karen. Like Porchey was still smitten with QE and they probably played that up because there was going to be a confrontation scene with QE & PP later on. I'm glad to know I was worried for nothing.

Preach. I had enough of that in S2 so let's not deal with that whole thing again.

Glad Philip and Elizabeth have put past those things. It was nice seeing E and her love of horses and her fascination on how people take race horsing seriously. I did feel for dickie since he feels England is his country but he feel useless and his scene with Alice is really sweet
