Yeah it seems that silence comes with plotting, and outward anger comes with actual violence.

Yeah and plotting is worst than actual violence because plotting comes with him figuring out how to hurt you most and do it slow

Even when Negan gets sinister and yells at him, Carl never flinched. He's more upset about having to show Negan over anything.

Crazy how he goes from rude and cruel, to actually caring about Carl's feelings.

So he left lucille outside while he was with Carl, and he almost forgot it when Rick has her too.

He had an interesting relationship with Carl because he liked to push him like he does with other but at a difference he does care about Carl and respected him. In his own Negan way.

Yep, but I think with Rick it was a mix of torturing him and overconfidence that Rick wouldn't do anything while with Carl it was a result of him truly being caught unawares.

I honesty think the reason why he cares about Carl, and now Judith, is because of being a teacher. He naturally knows how to deal with kids because he did it for so long. Plus he was hard on his students, so I think that's part of where his authority came in.

That's probably a part of it :nod: I think he also has in his own way a moral compass like he'll do a lot of messed up stuff but there's lines he won't cross like hurting kids or sexually attacking/abusing women.

Which is a good thing, because not a lot of men with his kind of power would have morals. So makes him a one of kind villain.

When the iron pulls away and you can hear and see the flesh ugh that is gruesome
