It would make sense after all this time too. Or!! I have a theory that at the very end Sam & Dean die, and they go to heaven and somehow John is there waiting for them.

I'm not sure how that would work cause...of how heaven works on this show but j2 have stated several times that their preferred ending for the show would be Sam and Dean dying.
