I enjoyed the movie very much even if it had the old classic theme of "a rich person becoming an average person in the short term [sometimes long term by choice] and learns life's lessons along the way" including selflessness, empathy, love, friendship and sharing/ giving to others less unfortunate.

I've been on both end of the spectrum from living on over 1K [when I had a good job] to living on 2 dollars after all the bills were paid off; so I can relate to both sides of the movie.
I also volunteered at a an assisted living nursing home for 3 plus years off and on which taught me the giving of my time to others less fortunate.

All in all... I will probably watch it once or twice more before the Holiday is over and watch it again in my Christmas in July tradition. Did I mention I'm also a Christmas movie crazy person [I love Original Christmas movies like a crazy fanatic]

so, we just finished our re-watch and also in here: the movie was much better than i assumed and i thought Eliza did an amazing job. she had great chemistry with Jake and the message of the movie was heartwarming. i am really glad she did that movie.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Dave! I couldn't agree more. I often stated in the re-watch thread how I loved the meaning of the movie, in terms of those empathy, gratitude,
and love "lessons". It was a beautiful movie and I am glad I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It's a good one to show a lot of people that lack the mindset that money isn't everything/happiness.

#1 movie on Netflix!

One question they never addressed is: did she move back to her own city to become the CEO of her dad's company and if she did...did Jake go with her or did they both remain in the small town where Jake managed the hotel.
