Eliza's acting really has developed in spades over the course of the the years. Her more subtle moments (sleeping in the rover, her action scenes, and being overwhelmed with trying to survive) are really poignant this episode, perhaps even more than the moment of her screaming about how she's lost everyone and everything (although that was great too). I'm really excited to see Clarke's bond with Madi grow, and I hope we get a few more flashbacks of the six years in between.

I would say that Eliza is the most improved in terms of acting.

Finally getting around to writing some thoughts.

I think this was probably my favourite premiere episode (not because it was mostly Clarke [

]), but because Eliza freaking killed it. We were taken on that emotional rollercoaster with her, and I truly felt it. It was a well-written episode and I liked that as the episode progressed, we were given throwback feelings to each of the seasons - Clarke in the water, Clarke driving the Rover listening to music, etc, etc. I thought it was a nice addition how things from those who Clarke loved guided and protected her through the tough times - Jasper's goggles, Maya's iPod, a piece of Lexa's throne.

^ to add to that, here's a snippet from a review I ready that I really loved:

But seeing Clarke swimming in that river, alone and smiling, she is free. For perhaps the first time on this show, she is free. The only thing that comes close is moments when she’s with people she loves and forgets everything else, like with Lexa or her mother. This sense of freedom is reinforced by the way her swim is shot – no voyeuristic male gaze, just relaxation, and a nice reminder of season 1’s two-headed deer and the spear by the river.

Also - I said it in the Clarke and Madi thread, but out of all the ways I imagined them meeting, Madi fearing Clarke of being the flame keeper was not one of them, so that was a nice surprise!

Just finished.

actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (in the sense I thought it was going to be unbearable to watch with all the blood and gruesomeness

). I'm still a big Octavia fan after it.

As for Octavia...I don't know if I like her any more or not...

i watched her scenes and Eliza's acting is on top always but hearing Clarke screaming because of pain always makes me so sad and i can't enjoy any of her scenes
