Personally, on other boards it's also used for recommendations. For example, never look at the 1D fanfiction threads, it's so long and so detailed that once you start you get lost in it and get out 5 weeks later.
 I like drabble challenges, even non-writers (like me) can try our hand at writing then.  __________________
