Crazy thing is that Ruthie judging of Martin this season has been pretty spot on... however Ruthie always held on to the fact of belief that Martin wouldn't have sex before marriage.

So it's why she just assumed eventually they'll both fall in love... not the most wise thinking but it's only because of how Martin values was before this season.
