I think this story is for Peter's backstory since his father will return in his life during this season.
So I guess the fans can see where is Peter's father and how he feels about him before we get introduced to him.

Don't think it was much need for the character... a lot of season 8 characters won't be in season 9 and I believe it was a great decision.

Season 8 sort of just have a lot of unnecessaryness so.... I was happy season 9 had a fresh start with a smaller but stronger cast in a way.

She's been on the show since season 6 and has grown close to them when she was in a romance with Simon Camden... the guy who just left down.

I think during this season she became dependent on Annie and the family even more was because it made her probably miss Simon less since they were Simon's family.

Martin never stood a chance in this relationship because Cecelia heart was still with Simon. Only reason they broke up was because he had to leave town.
