The New Orleans-based production will mark the feature directing debut of longtime sound editor Mike P. Nelson (“Diners, Drive-ins and Dives”), who wrote the screenplay for the film with Wenonah Wilms.

Set in a post-apocalyptic future, it will tell the story of a young couple as they make their way through a lawless, gang-ravaged Midwestern wasteland. Kate Bosworth (“Straw Dogs”) and Tyler Hoechlin (“Supergirl”) will reportedly star. Local actor Lance E. Nichols is also among the cast, according to the film’s IMDB listing.

According to the film’s state filing, pre-production is already underway.

No release date for “The Domestics” has been announced.
