I'm having a lazy Sunday but we're going to celebrate my nephew's 2nd birthday later (we already celebrated it earlier this week) but it's more low key today, his actual birthday.

I keep forgetting to post my dog pics. It's on my phone and I haven't uploaded it on my laptop.

mine has been stressful. my dog has been driving me crazy with his separation anxiety issues. today we got him fixed. we had to move up his surgery date cuz he hurt himself the other day which led to his testicles swelling and the doc wasnt sure why they kept swelling up so he was hoping this would help solve that. he has been doing really well with the inflatable cone (the plastic one he got off right away). but now that area is all red like its infected and we dont know why. so now we gotta call again tomorrow morning and see about getting him checked out again. (we should just pay for a room we have been there so much the last few days i swear)

Oh no! I hope the swelling stops. You've already had it checked so the Doctor can prescribe either a medicine to stop the swelling or probably some ointment that you can put on it. I hope your dog gets well soon.

Happy weekend everyone! It's quiet around here.

the swelling seems to have gone down. but he is obsessed with trying to lick that area. we have to keep a close eye on him. but he is still crying. not sure why.

If you don't want him to lick the area, buy an Elizabethan collar although that may cause some accidents. I bought one before because one of my dogs has an ear infection and he kept scratching his ears. So after the medication, I put him on the cone of shame and in the crate so he's constricted in his movements. I just told myself he'll get better even if I didn't want to do it. He did get better.

Just monitor and tell the vet anything else you observe.

my mom took him to the vets this morning just to get his opinion and he said everything looked fine. she thought his privates looked like it was slightly infected/irradiated. but he said it was fine. he needs to wear the cone for 2 weeks. we got him a new inflatable cone today. petsmart and petco have very little cones to choose from.hopefully he wont eat this one. we just have to keep a close eye on him. he really hates the crate he knows how to flip that and get out of it. and he cries and works himself up so much you think he is going to have a heart attack. they gave us prozac for him but they said it can take a couple weeks before that takes affect on him.

Okay that's good. Just monitor. I know it's painful but the collar is the only way that he can stop licking or scratching it. He'll get used to it eventually.

The dogs are due for their yearly anti-rabies vaccination this week so I have to give them a bath first before going to the vet.

yeah i know. he is keeping it on, he is doing better with the color. but his separation anxiety is still getting worse when we leave the house. we have to sneak out of our own house. we try leaving him treats (bones, kong) but he wont touch them till we return.

have fun givin your dogs baths and then takng them to the vets for their shots

Cute gif, Ilda.

Jen, aww separation anxiety. That happens. How about an old shirt that you don't use? Put it beside the dog and let him sleep on it? He'd love it cause it has your smell. If you go out all the time, he'd get used to it cause he knows you'd come back. As long as there's routine, the dog will be happy.

It's been good. At least it's Friday over here now. I'm going out tonight with the co-workers so I dressed up.

Any plans for you this weekend, Jen?
