I liked the episode. It was nice to learn more about Deja backstory and how she arrived to Randall and Beth's doorstep. It was an important story to tell, we needed a full picture of what her life has been up until now.
The last scene was so heartbreaking  seeing Shauna leaves Deja with the Pearson because she saw how good they are for her daughter. Despite her stumbles she does love Deja and has tried to be better for her.I like the parallels that showed the similarities between Deja and the various members of the Pearson family. |

Aw man, poor Deja..she's been through so much in her short life. I'm glad she found Randall and Beth. I hope the mom just doesn't leave without telling Deja..she needs to explain to her why she's leaving.

I hope soo too. It will be so heartbreaking for Deja if she is not going to do it
She is taking this difficult decision for her daughter's good, but she needs to say goodybye and explain to her why she's leaving. |

This was a good episode. Deja really has been through a lot in her life
 I can understand why Shauna is leaving, but I hope she does say goodbye to Deja first. __________________

Great episode. I just watched it. The part that got to me the most was when Deja was at the pawn shop. And she's thinking about selling her grandmother's brooch. And they juxtaposed it with scenes of Kevin getting Jack's necklace.

This was a heartbreaking episode but what broke me the most is how certain mistakes and accidents can lead to more crazy stuff.
Deja's great grandmother getting a heartache forced Deja's mother to REALLY grow up and take full responsibility of her daughter and she probably wasn't the greatest mother but she was pretty solid and than Deja cut her hand while trying to open a can and that is what brought child services around.  And Deja's mother was just a work... and that is when all hell broke loose. How a moment like going to the hospital to get yourself together turns to child services getting involved and than forester care, and than drugs and than the mother getting framed from her boyfriend and a lot of bad stuff to follow.This episode made me understand why Deja loves her mother so much though and can't give her up because in her eyes, everything was perfect until she cut her hand and child services got involved... |
