I know some people will burn shows onto DVD and sell them on eBay, but that doesn't always work out the best for me.

Have you bought DVDs that way? I haven't tried it, like you said I'm scared it might now work out.

I just finished watching the first season on Hulu and I'm so disappointed that it's ended on a cliffhanger since I doubt this show is coming back.

Yeah, I have. And I've paid for DVDs that I've never received, so I try not to do that anymore.

^Glad you were able to watch the whole season, minus the cliffhanger.

Welcome! That seems to be the consensus. I don't know why they felt the need to.
