-I hate novak djokovic

-I hated Federer for at least 3 years

-I cheer for more than one team, in the same sport, in the same country

-I don't have to cheer for my COUNTRY just because it is my country

-I rather watch the teams/players I dislike losing than my teams/players winning

-I like Rafa not because he is hot but because his game is hot

-I don't think Rafa is a handsome guy... he is almost ugly (but I agree he is cute and hot)

-Pete Sampras is GOAT in tennis and will ever be, doesn't matter if any other player earns 10000 GS including the French

-I hate Milan and Kaka

-I prefer Johnson to Jordan

-I hate San Antonio Spurs

-I hate Chicago Bulls

-Football (some people refer to soccer as football and I love soccer, I mean here american football) is the most nonsense sport ever

-I don't think Federer will recovery his hegemony in tennis

-I rather watch my favorite team than my country team

Agreed. My friends were razzing on me so badly last night during the swimming finals when they found out I wanted Stephanie Rice to win over Katie Hoff. They're all, "But Katie's American!" And? I like Stephanie's approach to that particular race more than I like Katie's. I'm not going to apologize for that!

Exactly... if I have a team or a player that I support all over the year or just someone that I like and any of these play agaisnt a team or a player from my country, why should I supposed to support my country?
I mean, I'm patriotic and all... and I love my country but I can cheer for whoever I want... and this has nothing to do with where I was born

Yeah. There's just some people I want to do well. I know it's going to be a bigger issue with my friends when I cheer for the Australian in the 1500m free in swimming than it was in the 400IM last night, and I'm not really looking forward to that as, well, that's a fifteen minute race. That gives them a lot of time to complain about me, haha.

I've never understood the logic that you should wish you shouldn't wish your favorite athlete well if he or she isn't competing for "your" team. That, in my opinion, is bad sportsmanship.

That boy is HAWT. His looks were half of the reason he drew my attention. Yes, shameful to admit but it's the truth. Now I see his appearance as a nice extra and value his accomplishments and results much, much higher of course but yeah... I got into him partly bc of his looks.

Respect your opinion of course.

You know I grew to his "beauty" recently because at the begining I thought he was ugly in fact

but them you love someone and you know, love is blind... so I think in a nearby future I will think he is wonderful

because I really love Rafa, as much as my soccer teams, Pete Sampras and Ana Ivanovic.
I always thought Pete cute and adorable... Ana is by far the most beautiful tennis player ever... and Rafa... I'm growing on him...
Anyway, the first "VAMOS" I heard I fell in love

Drunk driving, Indian Summer? Well, that skews my opinion of Phelps decidedly towards the dislike column. That is not cool.

Oh, and I get where you are coming from about Basketball, Tennis, and Football/Soccer, even though I love these particular sports.

And btw, I was rooting for your man Lochte last night. He was doing so well in the beginning against Phelps...hanging with him for a couple of laps. Too bad he faded to third. Hope to see him do better....oh isn't this just flippin' lovely. They are showing a replay of the swim last night. I'm changing the channel now.

Sparkling Diamond, even as a fan of Roger, I think he is sometimes too mechanical. The only silver lining in this slump is that he's not so totally on auto-pilot. It's been nice to see some want, the desire to prove back in his game. And Andy Roddick? Bless you for mentioning him, because I was scared to. It's not his game that bores me. I just don't like the guy. The same with Lleyton Hewitt. Just don't like them. I don't even know why either.

Sawyer&Kate, I, too, lean toward Rafa when he and Roger play against each other. Doesn't stop my heart from breaking for him after losing RG and Wimby. I want to see Rafa win the US, AO's, keep his number 1 ranking for a good long while but want to see Roger begin playing more like his old self, too.

You can call me Summer. And yes, Michael got 18 months of probation, if I remember correctly. It wasn't long after Athens. He basically got off with a slap on the wrist, though, since he managed to get them to drop the actual DUI, failure to stop at a stop sign, and underage drinking charges if he pleaded guilty to driving while impaired.

I wish Ryan and Phelps would both enter a meet healthy, or really just swim each other when they're both healthy at the same time, lol. But that doesn't seem to be in the cards as Ry has a way of always hurting himself right before a major meet. This time, he was recovering from a severely sprained ankle. Previously, it's been falling out of a tree during a rainstorm and getting a concussion right before Pan Pacs. Or falling off the scooter and getting a hairline fracture right before Melbourne World Championships last year. Or... yeah, the list goes on. The point is, I'd give anything to see Phelps and Lochte race each other when they're both in their prime. I noticed Ryan was still going soft on his turns, which I think hurt his overall performance. I have my fingers crossed for Rome Worlds next year, lol.

More unpopular than popular opinion, I think; a lot of people think he's an ass for sometimes too loudly celebrating his points but I love him, def. Loved him before Rafa.

I see what you mean. I really got a thing for Benicio Del Toro and he's not really superHAWT, and he's kind of growing older. But still...

-I already can't stand watching the NBC coverage of the Phelp's games..oopps, I mean the Olympic games.

-I prefer the Winter Olympics

-I'm not a big fan of Sid the Kid

-Baseball is really really boring.

-American football ( NFL) is nearly as boring.

-I enjoy curling and dont find it nearly as boring as others do

-Hockey is the most exciting team sport to watch live and is NOT boring on TV

-Everything about Nadal, but especially his gamestyle, is pretty much horrific

-Furthermore, seeing him become #1 is painful because it is ruining the sport of tennis. I do not think he will hold it for any long period of time though.

-Grass courts are slower

-About tennis at the games..I think the unpopular opinion is to like it at the games

Which I do. If they dont want to play, they dont have to, but why deny others, for which the gold medal IS as important as a GS the opportunity, or for other players, a great chance at playing for your country? It only comes around every 4 years

-Federer will go down as the GOAT. To some he already is. To use the excuse that he has to win the FO to be considered GOAT is absurd.

-The MLB, NBA and NHL seasons are way too long.

-NASCAR is incredibly boring..and I have a hard time actually calling it a sport.

uhmm.....thats all I can think of for now..

Thanks Summer for the info on both the swimmers and the sport itself since I don't know so much about either. Keep it coming.

Someone posted, Lovder&mer, I think, that they didn't think that Roger Federer "..will recover his hegemony in tennis.". As seeing him lose to people like Simon, Karlovic, and shruggling to beat at best B-level players, should make me agree with you, something in me won't let me believe it. I'm going to give him the USO, and oh,....maybe the Davis Cup and the next AO, and...oh, okay...if he doesn't win ANY Grand Slam next year, then maybe I can believe he will never be again the player that he has been for the pass four years. For now, I really want to see how he performs in Oly's and USO.

Now, I loved and worshipped the Chicago Bulls and Jordan, hated Pete Sampas (AGASSI!

), but you're a Rafa fan so you are so Coolio and too cool

for school in my book, yo!

The fact of the matter is that Roger has always stepped up his level of play for the slams. I mean, for such a crap year, he's made 2 slam finals, and the Aussie SF. The day I see Roger falter in the early rounds of a Slam is the day I'll start to be really worried about his performance. And that hasnt happened yet.

1) No calendar Slam
2) Has not yet broken Pete's record(s)
3) Has a H2H record of 6-12 against Nadal

That last one is most telling I think. I can't even call this a rivalry anymore. Maybe on hard courts we will see but Nadal has now beaten Federer not only on clay but in his own backyard too. I sometimes feel Federer should've been the #2 to Nadal's #1 quite a while ago. But at least it'll be this way now. A good thing in my eyes.

Well, he's had some lovely things to say about Rafa and plus he HAS mellowed out some, so my dislike of him hasn't been as intense as it was a few years ago. Wish I felt the same way about Andy Roddick.

Well..forget the fact that Pete never had a Calendar slam nor a career Grand Slam. Infact, Pete never came close to even winning the FO. Roger has been in the finals the past 3 years.

But that H2H record is so skewed its not even funny. 9 of Nadal's wins are on clay, Nadals best surface. How do you think Nadal made it so far in the rankings in the first place? The players' record against each other would be a bit closer had Nadal actually reached more grass and hard court finals. Roger has beaten Nadal on clay. Nadal has beaten Roger once on grass (Im not even going to talk about that final).. You could look at it another way. Roger has a winning record against Nadal on grass and hardcourts..but..whatever..

Its absurd that the clay season of tennis has several Master events, while grass has NONE (Im not sure if that is an UO). And I'm sure if Nadal And Uncle Toni had their way, they would forget the hardcourt season and just play more clay events.

Anyways..back to more UO..uhmm..
