Well I can't deny that you're mostly right, but I quess you cannot find a single club nowdays where money is not very important part of the player's loyalty. I agree on that one with Wenger. Players plays only cuz of money. But there are always exceptions like Terry () , Stevie G, Totti, Raul...

I think most of the people here aren't Ronnie fans. I remember the hate during the Euro

Raul...
I believe he plays for the club and for the history he has in that club [Casillas too btw], and a proof to that is that they both signed 'till 2017 which should be the end of their careers [Raul's for sure] but it's still about money somewhere 'cause they get paid very well

i'm beginning to think that this is actually the "popular" opinion here on lol. i dislike him as well.
in euro2004, he hit one of his opponents on the face with his foot and after getting his yellow card and calming down a bit, he just started laughing. i thought it was pretty arrogant of him, seeing as how the other guy was actually injured.

I don't like Ronaldo too, although the majority of women in the world seem to love him...

There is something in his face I don't liek. And yeah I don't like him either. He just acts...you know when he got 'fouled' during the Germany game, first he had no pain, then the referee wheezed(?) and he immediatly had pain Oo

Michael Phelps. Incredible athlete but not so great as a person apparently. Seemed full of himself when I saw him at Duel in the Pool last year, and people that go to college with him have some interesting stories. Oh and he's a total butterface.

Not a fan of his. He gives off the egomaniac vibe, I simply don't like him.

I don't post much and I don't think I've ever posted on the sports forum, but I'd loved to get this off my chest.

I don't hate Micheal Phelps, but I don't know how many more times I can hear his name during these OLY'S before I would actually WANT him to lose every heat. Or whatever they call them in swimming. He is expected (and most likely will) win every event he is in....sooooo what are we watching for....where is the suspense?

I'm an american that wants Spain to win the gold for basketball.

I hate golf and Tiger Woods in particular.

I love that Brett Favre got traded because he majorly pissed me off "retiring" in the first place. Plus, I'm sick of hearing his name, too.

I'm a Rafael Nadal fan that *gasp*....DOESN'T hate Roger Federer! In fact, I was a huge Roger fan before Nadal came on the scene. It just happened that the more I watched Rafa, the more I became emotionally invested in him. The first time I ever saw him was when he played Roger...and beat Roger. I can remember being so pissed and thinking "Who is this nobody kid?". But, after seeing him win his first FO, his joy, eagerness, and PASSION grabbed me.

I still love Roger though, and Novak Djockovic. Who seems to rub some people the wrong way.

Now, like I've just posted above, I love both Rafa and Roger, but I hope that they both lose in the first rounds of the Oly's. I think the USO is more important for Rafa to consolidate and build on his number 1 ranking and Roger to get back on his game. Ummm....those are all I have for now.

Ugh, I know what you guys are talking about. I like him for what he's done for the sport, getting it recognition and money (until fairly recently, the top professional swimmers, like Gary Hall Jr. in the 90s to early 2000s, were making about $1200 a month from swimming), but... I'm not exactly a fan of him. Maybe it's because I follow swimming outside of Olympic years, maybe it's because I've met him a bunch of times when he wasn't trying to live up to his public image, maybe it's because I know a few of his teammates pretty well.

I wouldn't have a problem with Phelps if he showed his own teammates a little more respect. But he doesn't, and that's my big issue with him. He's a great swimmer, and very possibly the best in the world (I actually don't totally agree with that... I think Thorpe in his prime was a better swimmer as well, he still has an oooold record on the books in the 400 free; and I think Ryan Lochte's more versatile, as he truly doesn't have a weak stroke, the way Phelps has the breaststroke). My issue is that he thinks of himself as a superstar, too, and leaves his team to deal with the fallout (ie. escaping out a side door at the airport in Beijing and leaving everyone else to handle the media). Plus, there's some things I can't really forgive anyone for, regardless of how famous they are, and drunk driving? Definitely one of those.

Another Olympic opinion: I don't think sports like basketball and tennis and football should necessarily be in the Games. It takes attention away from the less popular sports, and it just seems ridiculous to have like, Kobe Bryant facing off against some amateur player from another league.

Amen.

And I'm a tennis fan. Ha! It's on the same level as Master Series Event, maybe even a little bit under that imo. Most of the players do it out of patriotism imo and dumbly wear themselves out for the last important Grand Slam of the year. In a tennis player's career, it's not even considered important. The Grand Slams, which there are 4 of, are valued much higher.

Soccer I find ridiculous too; it just doesn't fit the Olympics feel imo. With basketball less, don't know why but I do feel that way about it.

I don't hate Fed either, I just find him to be slightly robotic, which may be an unpopular opinion.

Another unpopular opinion of mine:

I. hate. Andy. Roddick's. game.

Oh, how it bores me to tears.

OMG, same here! I love both of them, but when they play against each other, I always lean to Rafa, he's my #1, but that in no matter means that I don't love Fed.
