Sports - Unpopular Opinion

I saw this at the Soaps board and I just had to bring it here.

There is usually the popular opinion in sports, the opinion that people, media, newspapers, TV, etc. has to sell you on about a particular player, game, team, or sport. But, while there is what the majority wants/likes, there is always the other spectrum, which is the unpopular opinion. So, let's see those thoughts that many people have about the favorites of many people that might not be shared by a few.

Remember, keep the trash talking friendly and respectful.

Here's a few of mine:

~ Michael Jordan is the best basketball player ever. (Ya'll knew that was coming, LOL.)

~ What is that they say about baseball? It's America's sport or favorite pasttime? Um, NOT. I *hate* the sport w/ a passion and it's boring as hell. I think I would rather watch paint dry.

~ You don't have to like the teams from your own state just because you live there.

Except I'd say it's more paint-drying-in-super-slow-motion than just paint drying.

I agree with the everyone who says baseball is boring. It's also one of the few sports where it seems that players can be incredibly out of shape and still play...that and bowling.

I like baseball, but the Red Sox-Yankees "rivalry" is overrated and isn't what it used to be, so enough ESPN.

The final two minutes of basketball are incredibly slow.

ESPN only worships the rivalry because the games dwarf other games' ratings. It's the side of the bread that is buttered for them.

I do agree that it's not what it used to be though. It hasn't been since Peedro left the Sox. He was the one who really brought it back and a lot of the air was let out of the balloon when he was removed from it.

Oh definately true; when my family and I used to live in Texas, my dad wanted anyone but the Longhorns to win

Okay, I have two: One more conspicous than the other.

First off, I support both Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Chelsea (You soccer fans know how unpopular it is...)

And yes, I would rather watch paint dry than sit and watch a single round of golf.

apparently loving soccer is an unpopular opinion in north america, but it is my favorite sport.

i think baseball is boring as hell too, although i do love playing it.

I'm from Pittsburgh and I do not like the Steelers. Actually I'm not a fan of football at all.

I love baseball though.
