Really? People think that was the best the Bautista had to offer in a fight? Give me a break. He didn't fall to the ground after getting decked in the face. This whole situation is disappointing. I think a bigger point is that the Rangers waited until Baustista's final at bat of this season vs. them to do something. Baustista did slide hard into Odor & could have injured him if wanted to, but chose not to. Ridiculous that violence had to be resorted to.

OAKLAND -- Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor understands he is facing a suspension but said he has no regrets about what happened during his eighth-inning altercation with Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista during Sunday's 7-6 win.

"It's part of the game," Odor said.

Major League Baseball has not handed down punishment yet, but Odor is certain to be suspended after punching Bautista in the face. Others could be suspended as well and a decision will likely come down Tuesday.
"I know nothing yet," Odor said. "I'm still waiting."

He should just keep quiet and let it happen .

Reportedly they did give Odor an 8 game suspension that he's going to appeal. He did say he respects Bautista. Anyway the Jays lost again yesterday. They play Tamp Bay again today. Hopefully they'll get the win. Chris Archer is the Starting Pitcher for Tampa Bay while Marcus Stroman gets the start for Toronto.

Yeah. 8 games is not a lot to me, because he is going to likely appeal if he hasn't already which will almost certainly get his sentence reduced. 10 games like Chris Russo said on MLB Network would have been better I think for this suspension, but I'm ready to move on already & the Jays more importantly need to end this losing streak.

i think it's a fair penalty. It was a great punch, too. He'll be a hero when he comes back haha

It's not fair. People shouldn't be doing that to others & athletes are supposedly ''role-models''? Geez. I wonder what the MLBPA would do if Odor would've gotten suspended 30 games for this punch. At least then punishments would be taken seriously for fighting in that league.

It wasn't a fight. Baustista didn't throw a single punch. Anyway the Jays won yesterday. Now perhaps they'll get a winning streak going.

I went to two hockey games this past week and the referees just stand there when they are fighting. The players got ejected from the game, though.

Huh. Usually it's only a 5 minute penalty for fighting instead of a game misconduct, but that's that. May be they are trying to get fighting out of the league that is in you saw.

I'm going to miss Bautista & Encarnacion as it looks like both will not return. Edwin for sure isn't. Baustista could get a 1 year deal some place. Philly realistically could sign him. The Jays will still have Donaldson, but they need another solid batter int heir lineup I think. Certainly to replace Encarnacion & perhaps others.
