Thanks for starting this thread and for using one of my suggestions as the title.

As for the font on the OP, i don`t know about everyone else, but i wouldn`t mind seeing a bigger version of it.

Also the Bryan Brothers just got through beating Feli and Fernando V 7-5, 6-2. Good win for Bob and Mike in this preview of the upcoming Davis Cup semifinal tie between Team USA and the Spanish Armanda.

Anyway here are a few pics from today`s matches.

God Nole`s outfit is so ugly.

His shorts looks like bad swimming shorts.

I don't want to be a moaning bitch but I don't like title suggestions wherein its said we (the thread) only like fast surfaces. With me personally that's not the case. Even before Rafa I enjoyed seeing my faves play on clay, e.g. Kim Clijsters was exceptionally good on clay.

Just sayin'. The surface doesn't have to be USO fast for me to enjoy the game.

Some of the thread titles might not necessarily apply to every single person that posts on the tennis thread. So it shouldn't be made to be more of an issue than it needs to be. I am not trying to diminish your feelings (or anybody else's, for that matter) but it really isn't that serious. It's just a title.

The opening post font can be a little bigger. You can change it, Catherine. Thanks for starting the new thread.

First of all regarding some of the thread titles mentioning the surfaces, it can be interpreted differently. I`ve come up with them as an obvious expression of my anti-clay views, which are meant to only mock the surface and it`s slow play not the people who enjoy clay court tennis.

Getting back to the action in Toronto, i was very impressed with Richie`s performance in his 6-3, 6-3 win over David Ferrer.

That match had a lot of great shotmaking from both players, especially with Richie`s beautiful backhand and David`s nice sliced drop shots. Those shots were a thing of beauty to watch. I wish some players like Andy would add those shots to their arsonal. It`s so frustrating that after all these years that Andy has done very little to improve on those types of shots, except on some occasions. Plus i hate his backhand, which he hits like a girl. Anyway that was the best match i`ve seen from Richie in a while. He played very well throughout the match and showed a lot of poise in it. Now that is more what i and a lot of other people been wanting to see from Richie for a while.

Tomorrow will be the quarterfinals. Gilles Simon and Marin Cilic will start out the day with their unlikely match. After that match, James will take on Nicholas Kiefer. Then in the evening, Nole will play Andy Murray. Hopefully Nole can keep it going in that match and beat up on the Hobbit. The last match of the day will have Rafa taking on Richie. This is a very intriguing matchup. Obviously Rafa and Richie are very familar with each other since they came up the ranks together. Normally Rafa would be the heavy favorite, especially on clay, but Richie has a good chance in the match. If he can play as well as he did against David Ferrer, then Rafa will be in for a very tough match. So hopefully we`ll get plenty of good tennis later today.

I wasn't trying to make it a big deal, just expressing how I felt about those kinds of titles, even if they are just titles.

Moving on now, what I'm concerned.

It is shocking, it is disappointing, but to be honest, Erlich is so far from his form in the last few months and he was always the weaker link as it is. So now his wife is supposed to be giving birth [or maybe she already did] to their first kid and his mind is just all over the place

Andy said he might sign in with Harel Levy, who once beat Sampras I believe, but he's at a terrible shape now.

What an unbelievably pathetic performance from James.

Once again he has another disappointing loss, only this time he looked very more sorrier than ever. In fact it was so bad that i couldn`t even watch the rest of the match after the first set. James ought to be ashamed of himself for looking so terrible today.

I didnt get a chance to watch it. Well. I think all the top seeds are out of the first half..I kinda hope Simon makes it through now and wins the whole thing

James has become even more unreliable than ever. He had a favorable draw to go on a nice run, but instead he stinks up the court.

James, along with Andy, really needs to get it together in Cincy.

BTW i`m watching ESPN 2`s cover of the RC and unfortunately Brad Gilbert is back.

He just couldn`t stay away.
