Disappointing loss by Stan Wawrinka this tournament. That 5th set was brutal. Expect Andy Murray to win vs. Djokovic on Sunday.

Should be a good men's final on Sunday.

Good win for Nole. It was far from his best performance, but he did a good job of coming through in the crucial points to pull out the win.
Also in other action yesterday, Hall of Famer Martina Hingis and Leander Paes won the mixed doubles, while Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Lucie Safarova won the women's doubles title. Coming up tomorrow morning will be the women`s singles final where Maria will take on Serena Williams. This will be their fourth meeting in a Grand Slam final, with Serena holding a 2-1 lead. I think that this is going to be a hard hitting match that they usually have. Of course i really hope that Maria can finally end her losing streak to Serena and bring home her second Australian Open title. __________________

This morning's match was such a disappointment for me personally. Maria really made a valiant effort to come back from down a break in the second set, but Serena ultimately proved to be too much in the crucial points in the tiebreaker to pull out the win. With the win, Serena captured her sixth Australian Open title and 19th Grand Slam title, which moves her past Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova for third place in the all time women`s list along with Helen Willis-Moody. She's now three wins behind Steffi Graf for second place and five behind Margaret Court for first place. As for Maria, this was a tough loss for her. She really gave a valiant effort in the second set, but once again came up short. Still i`m proud of her and hope that she will finally break the jinx against Serena soon.
The Australian Open will conclude tomorrow morning with the men`s singles final where Nole will take on Andy Murray. This will be their fifth meeting in a Grand Slam final, with them splitting their four previous meetings. I think that this is going to be another tight battle, which they usually have. I really hope that Nole will do well and can capture his fifth Australian Open. __________________

well, I cared x)
I'm not disappointed, just sad because there really wasn't anything Maria could've done against Serena's serves. otherwise she did an awesome job, in the 2nd set especially. I blame the rain break for how the first set went down because Maria was starting to get better after a few games..but that doesn't matter now. I'm really really proud of her, she saved match points again like in R2 and I'm very grateful she's got this far she fought very hard and showed us once again what a big fighter she is. it was a great two weeks. this season started so well for her, one title already and a GS final out of two tournaments. I'm mad at Serena cause she always raises her game when she plays Maria while she can lose to no.180's... still, I'm not disappointed and if God's willing and she doesn't have to face Serena again, I believe Maria will get to win another slam this year __________________

Yeah. It's disappointing that Andy Murray lost, but he played well this tournament & if healthy I wouldn't be surprised if he makes it back to the Wimbledon final this year. I am glad that this tournament is over though as my favorite players didn't do very well in it mostly & on the West Coast some of the matches didn't end until 4:00 A.M. or later. Guess if you're on the East Coast you have to already be awake at that time just to watch it live.

What do people think of Andy Murray's gf? She was yelling out expletives courtside at the Berdych match, and she put on a t shirt next match saying explicit content, and the press forgave her because she was hot
Kim Sears, Andy Murray's Girlfriend Personally she should wear the t-shirt saying: "So many boys, so few can afford me" if you really want to know what I think, such a bitc* __________________

She's the most beautiful girl in the world!
Cool t-shirt. And she is with Murray since 2006., I think, so Murray was not that popular and wealthy then... I'm not a fan of Novak, but I think it's a big possibility that he could win all Grand Slams this season. If Rafa doesn't improve, Novak will win RG. Wimbledon and US Open, I hoping for Roger to do something, Nadal certainly won't win Wimbledon, and we'll see what he can do on US Open. I must say, this could be a very one-dimensional season, because the other players are in bad form (Nadal) and some are old and can't endure the high tempo on GS vs. big players (Federer). Will see what Wawrinka, Murray, Nishikori, Cilic and Dimitrov have to offer. and one interesting article - Australian Open - Move over, Tom Brady and Russell Wilson, it's Novak Djokovic's day - ESPN |
