Here`s an update from yesterday`s finals.

First of all in Winston-Salem, Lukas Rosol defeated Jerzy Janowicz 3-6, 7-6(3), 7-5 to win the Winston-Salem Open.



Also in New Haven, Petra Kvitova defeated Magdalena Rybarikova 6-4, 6-2 to win the Connecticut Open.



So that`s the story from the finals of the last warmup events, which saw a Czech title sweep. Tomorrow on CBS will be the annual airing of Arthur Ashe Kids' Day at the USTA National Tennis Center.

Just want to alert everyone that the US Open gets underway tomorrow. Former champions Andy Murray and Venus Williams will headlined the action in the afternoon session along with Milos Raonic, Stan, Simona Halep, Aga Radwanska, Sloane Stephens, Caroline, Donald Young, Tommy Robredo and Lucie Safarova. Plus Jo-Wilfried will take on Juan Monaco and Mikhail Youzhny will face Nick Kyrgios. Later in prime time at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Maria will play Maria Kirilenko and then Nole will take on Diego Schwartzman.

I'll be tuning in to the evening sessions as the day time sessions will not be on during a waking hour here on the Pacific East Coast of Australasia

Whats the prognosis in terms of the weather forecast over there, folks? Usually there is a 3-4 day storm that messes with the tournament scheduling, so much so the men's / ladies' singles are often on the same day

Its not called "Flushing Meadows" for no reason
