I love Nole and Maria`s Tweeting exchange. I would love to see Maria do an impression of Nole at Arthur Ashe Kids Day, especially with how he bounces the ball a lot.

Also here are a couple of pics from the Fed/Tomas Berdych match.

I love that about Maria too. She has always been a good sport with Nole doing impressions of her. I wish that a lot of other people felt the same way.

Another thing i like to see Nole do on Arthur Ashe Kids Day is some dancing. Maybe it`s just me, but i want to see how much dorky he looks dancing, although i have a feeling that Nole has some good moves.

Earlier tonight in the last quarterfinal match in Cincinnati, Nole defeated Gael 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

I`m pleased that we got an entertaining match with plenty of long rallies and nice hustling from them.

Gael came out strong in the first set and really showed some excellent net play and volleying for much of the match,

however Nole got it together starting in the second set with some nice hustling and shot makings in some long rallies,

which gradually wore down Gael in the third set.

So good win for Nole.

It wasn`t his best performance, but he did a good job of elevating his play in the last two sets.

So that`s the story from today`s matches. Tomorrow will be the semifinals. The men`s semifinals will be held in the afternoon as Andy Murray will take on Mardy and then Nole will face Tomas Berdych. Later on in primetime, Maria will play Vera Zvonareva.

What a match! Stayed up until 3am to watch it! It was a very tough match, Novak definitely wasn't up to scratch and his body language was very negative. Down 4-3 in the second it looked like he was going to fall, but it shows just how much of a fighter Nole is

My reaction on tumblr:

Djokovic finally broke Monfils serve, time to show him your passion, your power, give us some of that class tennis that we know you for.

I know he’s tired, i know he’s won 55 matches this season and lost 1 and losing this wouldn’t be that bad for him as he needs a break and can bounce back..

but hopefully he can catch up, and show who’s number 1.

THATS WHY HE’S NUMBER ONE. Amazing! 1 set down and a break down, and somehow he found it in him to turn it all around. now i gotta sleep before i collapse.

Here is an update from today`s finals in Cincinnati.

First of all in the men`s final, Andy Murray won the first set 6-4 and was leading 3-0 in the second set when Nole retired due to a sore right shoulder.

Andy played pretty well throughout the week in winning his second title at Cincinnati, which obviously should boost his confidence.

Of course i`m sad for Nole that he wasn`t able to complete the match. He did the right thing in retiring, because he could barely serve and his forehand didn`t look good. Hopefully Nole will take a much needed break.

Then in the women`s final, Maria defeated Jelena Jankovic 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-3.

What a great win for Maria.

She did a good job of stepping up her play in the crucial points to capture her second title of the year. This is a great way for her to head into the US Open.

So that`s the story from Cincinnati where Andy Murray and Maria won the singles titles. Coming up this week will be the final warmup events for the US Open, which are the New Haven Open, the Winston-Salem Open and the Texas Tennis Open. Caroline will be going for her fourth straight title in New Haven, while Andy Roddick, John, James, Lleyton, Marcos, Nikolay Davydenko and Jurgen Melzer will be headlining the action in Winston-Salem.

I absolutely hate those trophys I have to say

During the match I was talking to my Nole fangirls. I was praying he would retire because he looked in so much pain and health is always more important.

I posted this on tumblr:
I know I’m annoying, but if you have twitter, do leave Nole a kind message. I know that Andy Murray checks and reads every tweet although he can’t reply to each and every one, and I’m pretty sure Nole reads every tweet he is sent

Especially with all the Novak hate, he needs some nice, supportive messages from his fans

I sent him this:

@DjokerNole hope you get some well deserved rest. It was so hard to watch you in pain. We’ll always support you.

And if it helps to boost his spirits even a little bit, I’ll be happy =)

I don`t like those trophies either Theresa. They look like something my grandmother would put her flowers in. However they`re much better than some trophies for the lower tier events.

That was mighty nice of you to sent that Tweet to Nole. I hope that he will reply to it.

Also here is an update from yesterday`s matches in Winston-Salem. First of all, James and Donald Young won their opening matches in straight sets. Good wins for those guys. It`s nice to see them get off to good starts. Unfortunately the news wasn`t so good for Bernard Tomic as he was defeated by Igor Andreev in three sets. Tough loss there for Bernard.

And I thought the dubai trophy was too much I stand corrected!

Thanks I've been on twitter a lot during the matches and been tweeting some of the players. Even if they don't reply I know they will read them

Thanks for posting the men`s rankings. I`m also happy that Nole is still a good distance ahead of everyone else, however i`m troubled by how far Andy Roddick has dropped. I really hope that he can start to get things back on the right track in Winston-Salem.

Also here are the latest WTA rankings:

Novak is a good 2,500 ahead of Rafa whilst Fernando is back in the top 20 after a good performance in Cincy. I watched a preview show on US Open and of course here, the pressure is on Andy Murray to try and get that grand slam win. Of course he has a very tough job.

Glad to see Sharapova climb up to 4. I think the womens rankings are a different story though as you never know who will outlast the top stars

I just ordered Rafa Nadal's biography I can't wait to read it as it sounds really intriguing.

Thanks for the latest pics/standings/news. So sad to see where Roddick is now.

Those trophies look like an urn.

Nik yes roddick has fallen down so many spots, if he doesnt do well in W and S and in US open, I don't think it will do any good for him.

The first withdraw from US Open..

Former World No. 1 and 2001 US Open champion Lleyton Hewitt will not compete at the final Grand Slam championship of the year due to a foot injury.

Hewitt's manager, David Drysdale, confirmed to The Herald Sun, "It was a gut-wrenching decision for Lleyton, particularly given it is the 10-year anniversary since he won the tournament."

World No. 188 Hewitt had received a wild card, but it will now be handed to another Australian, Marinko Matosevic.

Asked if 30-year-old Hewitt would consult a surgeon about his injury, Drysdale said, "We'll look at those sorts of things in a few days' time."

Drysdale went on to confirm, "He'll definitely play next year. He wants to help Australia get back into the World Group."

Australia faces Switzerland in a Davis Cup World Group play-off on grass courts in Sydney from 16 September. Hewitt has not ruled out competing in that tie.

Tough break there for Lleyton. I hate it for him that he`s unable to play at the US Open on the 10th anniversary of his title win.

I`m just now hearing about Rafa`s autobiography. I saw some revelations about him at Yahoo! Sports like he doesn`t trust animals and when he was young, thought that Uncle Toni had the power to make it stop raining.

Also in an update from Winston-Salem, John defeated Dudi Sela 7-6(3), 6-2.

Good win for John.

Unfortunately the news wasn`t so good for the other members of Team USA as Robin Haase defeated James 6-4, 6-1; Pierre-Ludovic Duclos defeated Ryan Harrison 7-5, 7-5 and Grigor Dimitrov defeated Donald Young 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(2). Tough losses for those guys.

So that`s the update from some of the afternoon matches. Andy Roddick will be back in action later tonight.

I have some Rafa related news

Rafa was on Letterman last night:

Rafa wasn't as good as Novak was, but I was quite angry at Letterman. He didn't ask him about his book at all, nor about tennis and was shooting questions at him so fast Rafa is already shy and looked very nervous, so it did not make him feel better.

for the ladies, some pictures of rafa's armani campaign. I think I died

They're quite big so check the link:
