Yeah, I wont start on how I really feel about it.

I'm going to try my hardest to be civilized this Wimby

My eye twitches every now and then though..especially now reading stuff on Murrary..

Okay i`ve just went to the Fed thread and saw his outfit and shoes for Wimbledon.

Once again Nike gives Fed another great outfit. I want that shirt and those shoes.

Well, as a Rafa fan, I thank you, sweetie!

Cathy, you always play nicely with the other kids(rafa fans) on the playground, lol. Or, at least you do with me.

It's nice that as fans of different players, we, as you said, can be civil with each other. What I appreciate alot about this thread is that nobody goes out of their way to be harsh, insulting or just down-right mean about the players.

But, having said that, I won't/wouldn't be bothered with someone defending their favorite player.

Stuff? What stuff? Stuff like.. Andy, like, being the favorite or winning Wimbledon, kind of stuff? Not that that's not or anything. Seriously, , not . If such an unpredictable FO '09 can happen... Personally, I'm hoping for a more predictable Wimbledon this year.

Nice Kit, Roger. Simple. Elegant. I like.

Seems like Nadal's having more problems with his knees

BBC SPORT | Tennis | Nadal Wimbledon defence in doubt

I like Rafa, not a massive fan but he is very talented and it would be a shame not to see him in Wimbledon. Yet recovery is the most important thing.

Aww.

It definitely would not be the same without him in Wimbledon.

Wimbledon has been in doubt since Roland Garros.

I'm glad to see another poster here that likes him, at least. But, as one of those massive fans of his, I agree with you that recovery, however long it takes, is the most important thing.

In any case, he has a match tomorrow. He's expected to give comment to his Wimbledon defense. I hope he will be able to play at least a few matches. Because as with RG, for me, it just won't be the same.

Oh I'm aware Wimbledon has been in doubt, I just kind of thought he would play considering the signs of improvement earlier in the week

I like Rafa, he's a good player, gracious and humble. He tries 100% and even though sometimes I don't love his game, he knows how to fight.

I am rooting for Fed or Murray to win Murray because I'm a Brit and have warmed to him and Fed because I love him

The draw is out

So Murrary is in Nadals half. Well now, won't the media get all spun up over that..between Murray being the glorifed one to win this, and the knee-gate

Thanks for posting the draw Catherine. Fed and Andy Murray both have very favorable looking section, although there are some potential dangerous opponents in Andy`s section like Gonzo and Marat, that if he doesn`t screw up early on. Rafa`s section is much tougher looking, especially with Lleyton Hewitt there. Even without the knee problems, this could be a tough match for Rafa. However the dark horse threat in Rafa`s section is Andy Roddick. He has played very well this year and if his ankle is fine, then i can see him going on a nice run. Also Nole`s section is favorable looking early on, but could get very tricky in the third set with a likely meeting against either his good buddy Janko Tipsarevic or Mardy Fish. Even if Nole gets past that match, then likely looming later on is either Juan Del Potro or Tommy Haas.

As for the ladies, obviously Venus Williams will be the heavy favorite. She has a very favorable looking section. Ana is also in that section and her part of the draw looks favorable early on, however given Ana`s struggles this year, i wouldn`t be surprise if she has a tough match or two early on. I think that it would be a good showing for Ana if she can reach the third round. Dinara Safina`s section looks favorable early on, but the big threat to her over there is Caroline Wozniacki. I`ve been very impressed with Caroline`s play this year and think that she is one of the dark horse favorites at the All England Club. In the lower half, Maria, Elena Dementieva and Serena Williams are the headline stars there. Elena Dementieva has a very favorable looking draw that she should get through, provided that she doesn`t self destruct like she usually does in the Grand Slam. In the bottom section, Maria has a favorable looking draw early on. She should get through the first two rounds. The third round will be tougher with a likely meeting against Nadia Petrova, however Maria has done well against her. Should Maria get by Petrova, she`ll likely face Victoria Azarenka in the fourth round, which should be an interesting match since their games are very similar. However Maria is much better on grass than Vika. I really think that Maria could go on a nice run at Wimbledon. She has played progressively better with each tournament. The only problem she has is getting used to the new serve motion. If Maria can figure that out, then i think she will go on a nice run and will likely meet up with Serena Williams later on.

I`m really looking forward to Wimbledon this year, especially with the new roof at Centre Roof. I hope that we`ll get plenty of great tennis in the next couple of weeks.

Nadal out of Wimbledon.

...Baghdatis and Monfils, too.

Too bad about Nadal. Suppose that's a drawback to the way he plays, though - it's awfully taxing on the joints. Hopefully he'll be back at Flushing Meadows. As for Baghdatis and Monfils, they probably weren't threats to win it all, but they're colourful and nice characters, and Wimbledon's a poorer place without them.

I`ve just heard about Rafa withdrawing on ESPN a few minutes ago. I had a feeling that this was going to happen. Still i feel bad for Rafa and his fans that he`s not going to be able to defend his title. I`m also sad for Gael and Marcos that they will be out due to injuries. Those guys are a lot of fun to watch and Wimbledon won`t be as exciting with them. Hopefully all three of them will get well soon and be ready for the hard court season later this summer.

Oh boy..I can almost hear the British media whipping this up into a frenzy. And silly me had wondered how they could possibly find more pressure to put on Murray..well they found their way now.

Sounds to me like a mental aspect is in play here as well. If the injury is enough to keep him out of Wimby..how the hell was he even cleared to be on practice courts, and play those matches. Oh well.Sucks for Nadal fans.

Del Potro takes his spot, yeah? Hope he does well.
