Re: the grunting. I'm not a big fan of it, but I've got no sympathy for their opponents when it comes to dealing with that or really any other noise distractions.

Yeah, how the hell could NBC get away with not showing both semi finals? I don't have TTC so even if they do show it, I won't be able to see it.

Then again it might not have been a bad idea I didn't get to see since I probably would have had two or three heart attacks watching the thing.

History was made today in Roland Garros as Fed finally wins the French Open title with a 6-1, 7-6(1), 6-4 win over Robin Soderling to become the sixth man to complete the career Grand Slam and tie Pete Sampras for the most Grand Slam singles titles at 14.

What a great sight it was to Fed finally break through that final barrier at Roland Garros, especially during the post match ceremony, which further cements Fed`s classiness. You can`t but be happy for Fed that he finally reach that elusive milestone in his career. Fed`s win today is a nice way to end the French Open. Of course i`m very happy that the French Open is over with, which means that it`s end of the clay court season. I`ll admit that i enjoyed the clay court season a lot more than ever this year with some great matches between Rafa and Nole and the return of Maria, but now i`m sick of looking at all that red clay and ready to see the lush and beautiful grass courts, especially at the All England Club. We`ll have plenty of time to discuss Wimbledon, but for now, let us celebrate Fed reaching the career Grand Slam.

It was great seeing Andre handing Fed the trophy.

Ladies and gentlemen, here is your new French Open champion.

It was great to see Fed having a picture with some of the staff members at RG, which is a great classy gesture.

Congrats on your first French Open title and the career Grand Slam Fed. Viva la Federer.

I am beyond happy with the result today! It was so beautiful to watch.

Except for that idiot who ran on the court, but Fed handled it pretty well.

I'm definitely very happy with the result today. Oh and after getting a glance at Soderling's girlfriend, I'd have to say that Roger wasn't the only one who went home a winner today.

Yeah Robin`s girlfriend is pretty hot. He`s definitely a lucky man. Obviously we`ll have to add her to the hottest tennis girlfriend/wife list along with Brooklyn Decker, Bec Cartright and Sara Foster.

With the French Open now over with, the grass court season begins tomorrow, with the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany, where Fed is scheduled to make his annual grass court warmup along with Nole, Jo-Wilfried and Fernando Verdasco and the AEGON Classic in Birmingham, England, which will feature Maria. I`m really looking to the return to the grass courts, which will be a welcome sight for me at least after all of that red clay in the last month and a half.

Congrats to Roger on FINALLY winning the French Open! What a sweet touch to have Agassi present the trophy to him! It was great seeing him as he is one of my all-time favorites.

Bring on the grass court season, though.

I forgot to mention that Queen`s Club is also among this week`s tournaments. That tournament will feature the Andys, James, Mardy, Marat, Lleyton, Gael and Feli.

Whassup, tennis fans!

First of course, congrats to Roger!

Second, how can I watch Queens? Actually, no, how is Halle being broadcasted? I'd like to see Nole.

Only the semifinals and finals at Queen`s Club will be broadcasted here in the states. As for Halle, i haven`t seen anything about broadcasts over there. I`ll look around for it.

BTW Nole defeated Simone Bolelli 7-5, 6-2. Good win for Nole.

You'll probably have to try some online streaming to catch Halle.

Not much of a surprise there, especially given all of the hoopla Fed has had in the last couple of days. I hate it for the folks in Halle, but at the same time, i think that Fed is doing the right thing. Of course his withdrawal will obviously make things much easier for Nole and Jo-Wilfried, who both won their matches in Halle today 7-5, 6-2 over Simone Bolelli and Fabrice Santoro respectively. Good wins for Nole and Jo-Wilfried. I`m pleased that they both delivered nice solid performances to start out the grass court season. Plus i`m glad that Fabrice was able to stay competitive for a set in his farewell appearance at Halle. I would love to see him and Jo-Wilfried team up for doubles soon. They would make for a very fun team given their exciting styles of play.

Meanwhile at the Queen`s Club, it was a very successful day for Team USA`s top stars as Andy defeated Kristof Vliegen 6-1, 6-4; James defeated Ivan Ljubicic 6-2, 7-6(4) and Mardy defeated Michael Llodra 5-7, 7-6(5), 6-3. Good wins for those guys. I`m especially pleased that James beat Ljubicic in straight sets. Also Alberto Martin upset Ernests Gulbis 7-6(9), 6-4.

So that`s the story as the grass court season gets underway. Anyway here are some pics from today`s matches at the Queen`s Club.

What a beautiful sight that is, especially after having to look at all that damn clay for the last month and half.
