| Fan Forum's Finest   | Oh yes she does. I caught her match this morning and for those who complains about Maria`s shrieking, Michelle is twice as loud. I`m sure some of y`all have heard about the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)`s surprise testing of four of the Spanish Armanda`s top stars in Rafa, Fernando Verdasco, David Ferrer and Tommy Roberdo. This was so wrong on all fronts, especially since they woke up the Spaniards and made them wait in the Players` lounge for a couple of hours and has turned me off to the WADA.  If i were one of the fellas or Uncle Toni, i would`ve choked one of those WADA D-bags. I wish that they would`ve done this before the tournament. This was so inconsiderate of them to wake up Rafa, Fernando, David and Tommy and put them through this.Rafa obviously channeled his anger from the surprise test by routing Lleyton Hewitt 6-1, 6-3, 6-1. This was a case of Lleyton catching Rafa at the wrong time. Andy Murray got a tussle early on from Janko Tipsarevic and came back from down 1-5 in the first set to win it 7-6(3). After Andy won the second set 6-3, Tipsy then retired due to a hamstring injury. Also Nole completed his match against Sergiy Stakhovsky and didn`t have much work as he won the third set 6-1. Meanwhile Fernando Verdasco defeated Nicholas Almagro 6-2, 7-6(4), 7-6(8); Victor Hanescu upset Gilles Simon 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 and Nikolay Davydenko defeated Stan 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Meanwhile on the ladies` side, we got an upset over there as Agnes Szavay defeated Venus Williams 6-0, 6-4. Maria had a tough time against Yaroslav Shvedova, but came out with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 win. Ana and Dinara Safina had much easier times today as they won their matches in routs. So that`s the story on today`s matches. Tomorrow Fed, Andy Roddick, Jo-Wilfried and Gael will be back in action for their third round matches. Anyway here are some pics from today`s matches.          Good job Maria.      Good job Nole. | Great match today, Rafa! It took me long enough after first hearing about what happened to Rafa and the other three Spanish players to calm down, so I'll not comment again. Besides, I said all I had to say in his thread. HotRod, do you know who Nole and Roger are playing tomorrow? Oh, I heard that Shrieking Michelle girl asked if anyone told Sharapova to cut the noise out? (Wimbly?) Now I'm far from a Shriekapova fan...actually, I can't stand her, but respect, yes, definitely. Someone should have pointed out to the little girl that she isn't Maria, a multi-slam winner. Someone should have pointed out to her that seeing as this is her first major, she may not want to start off by getting on peoples nerves and looking inconsiderate toward other players. | |||

As for Maria`s outfit, i think that it`s good looking and she obviously look very lovely in it , but at the same time it isn`t as good as the nice navy blue outfit she wore last year. I agree with you Catherine about Rafa`s outfit. | Fan Forum's Finest | I can`t believe what happened with Nole today.  He didn`t have that spark we usually see from him and was obviously a step slower than Philipp Kohlschreiber, who came out playing very aggressively. I was really hoping that Nole could start a comeback in the third set, but sadly it wasn`t the case. I don`t know what else to say other than this is a big blow for Nole in terms of his confidence and ranking. Now he`ll have an uphill battle on the grass courts, which he hasn`t done well on.On a much better note, Andy Roddick finally broke through the third round barrier with a 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 win over Marc Gicquel. Good win for Andy. He played another nice solid match today. I`m very proud of him for finally reaching the second week at Roland Garros. The French Connection`s hopes are still alive as Jo-Wilfried and Gael won their matches against Christophe Rochus and Jurgen Melzer respectively. Good wins for them. I`m especially pleased with Jo-Wilfried`s performance, which was a nice improvement from his previous matches.Tommy Haas also advanced to the round of 16 with a 7-5, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win over Jeremy Chardy. It`s nice to see Tommy in the round of 16 at RG, especially with all the tough luck he has had with injuries in the last 2-3 years. Juan Del Potro and Tommy Roberdo also won their matches. Fed is currently playing Paul-Henri Mathieu. | Fan Forum's Finest | I`m still pretty down about Nole`s loss. Andy`s win made the day better, but Nole losing is a dark cloud on the day at least for me. Also Fed got a tussle from hometown favorite Paul-Henri Mathieu, but he was able to defeat the Frenchman 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4. Another solid performance from Fed. So that`s the story on today`s matches at Roland Garros. Tomorrow will be the start of the round of 16. Rafa will headline the day on the men`s side as he will take on Robin Soderling. Also Andy Murray will face Marin Cilic, Fernando Verdasco will play Nikolay Davydenko and Fernando Gonzalez will take on Victor Hanescu. On the ladies` side, Maria will face Na Li, Ana will play Victoria Azarenka and Dinara Safina will take on hometown favorite Aravane Rezai. Hopefully we`ll get some good tennis at Roland Garros tomorrow. Anyway here are some pics from today`s matches. | Master Fan | Am I the only not completely surprised about Djoke going out? For all the talk about how he's the second best clay-courter, how Federer wouldn't be able to even get to the final because of meeting Djoke in the SF, all the "experts" seem to forget one glaring fact..that Djoke's consistency at grand slams kinda suck. Infact the only other player that is even remotely close to Roger in terms of consistancy at Slams is Nadal, and even he has a ways to go. Oh well..anyways..Woooo..goooo Fed. Thanks for the pics The second one is great. And Mirka is looking good Wish I could've caught the match, but oh well..I'll be watching his match against Haas. He has a tricky road ahead to make it to next Sunday, but I sure hope he makes it. BTW.. I soooo want his jacket Quote:

| Fan Forum's Finest | Glad that you like the pics Catherine. I also want Fed`s jacket too. He has the best gear of anyone in tennis. What happened to everyone else in the Fed Nation here? We had a good group of Fed fans here last year, but they`ve disappeared with the exception of yourself. As for Fed`s next match against Tommy Haas, i think that he will get a tussle from Tommy, but if Fed can improve on his play, then i think that he should get through the match. In fact i hope that they`ll actually play the match, unlike the last couple of times they were suppose to play where Fed got the walkover at Wimbledon in 2007 and at Indian Wells last year due Tommy having injuries both times. I hope that Tommy`s people will keep him away from anything kind of potentially hazardous objects before the match. BTW Tommy Haas is scheduled to have the next big tennis wedding soon with his recent engagement to actress Sara Foster aka Amy in D.E.B.S.
