It was nice it was Tek who got the winning run especially since he fell into a slump. Also J.D. is suddenly hitless again. I miss Papi too. We need Papi power Still it is nice to know we can still win without Papi and when Manny stalls at his at bats.

Ooh the Rays. Let's hope there is no more mayhem. I am still amused that as opposed to years past, it's the Rays who we are battling for 1st place and not the Yankees.

Schill did an interview with WEEI today about his shoulder:

Quote:

Speaking on Boston sports radio WEEI this morning, Curt Schilling said he will begin to rehabilitate his right shoulder after Monday's successful surgery.

"If I want to pitch again I have a chance to, that's the bottom line," said Schilling, who added that he is still several months away from throwing.

Schilling said the Red Sox consented to his surgery. If his rehab goes as planned, he didn't close the door on a return to the Red Sox or another major league team.

"Not at all," he said when asked if he would rule out a return to the Red Sox. "I got a real clear understanding in the last 12 months of what a business this is, for better or worse ... teams make decisions that are in their best interests, and if those things don't align with what a player feels, it doesn't matter."
Source

Schill also posted on his blog about his surgery and the press reports. Be aware this post is dated June 20th so it might be old news to some of us

Yeah but Im not ready to write them off entirely. They certainly have the $ to go out & rent a player or 2.

The Yankees, I am assuming you are talking about, right? If that's the case, I would agree. Dismissing the Yankees isn't usually a good idea. Tonight has to be one of the first nights in a while where there won't probably be a rain delay

Let's hope they don't. The team doesn't need anymore suspensions to worry about

What do you mean?

I am shocked that the yankees are doing so badly.....it's weird that we are battling Tampa for the top spot, instead of them.......

Found this on Boston.com about Cash's home run:

Quote:
It was his first home run since June 21, 2005 when he faced Randy Johnson -- then a member of the New York Yankees -- while Cash played for Tampa Bay.
Makes it even more special! Granted it wasn't against Johnson this time but still..
