Hey, Y'all!

First, I'd like to say, I'm still, pretty much, a Rafael Fan First! Although, I can't help be a little happy for...you know. Sorry.

Well, Barbara, I too, think that Toni overdramatises...a tad. I can't help but think it's more an emotional healing Rafael needs than a physical one.

Another thing is, Barb, like you, I would LOVE to say that if it is all what Toni makes it out to be, that Rafa SHOULD skip Wimbledon. I'm sorry, though, I can't say I truly feel that way. I want to see Rafa. I want to see Rafa go in there and prove freakin' everyone that he still is the one to beat and defend his title! I know that may not be the "good fan" thing to say, but, I can't help that way.

Thanks for the pics, Barbara. I hope by later this month, Rafa would have healed what has needed healing and come to grips better with all the emotional things currently going on in his life. Some how learn to copartmentalize areas of his life.

Please, don't hate me, you guys!

To hopefully lift some spirits up in here, though, Bud Collins said that it is too early to call Roger GOAT. And I've seen tons of posts around the net, and not from necessarily Rafa fans, that the fact that he won against a "lesser" oppontent definitely should enter the convo.

Sorry, if I'm beening annoying, but I'm just trying to make some of you all feel better. And hey, we've been through this as Rafa fans before. 2007 is the one I remember the most. What happened was, he came back stronger and better than he was before. At this point, the least we'd have learned is NOT to underestimate a certain Mr. Rafeal Nadal!

Christal you are back
Rafa confirmed he is traveling to London Tuesday 16th, within one week and that he will try his 200% to play the most important tennis tournament according to him.
His complete statement is on his website www.rafaelnadal.com
I can't say if I am relieved or not because it seems the problem in his knees is not that serious but does requires a lot of rest.
Anyway, the best for Rafa and his healthy.

Well, I'm not sure whether to be happy or not about that news. But anyways, I concur, just hope he takes care of his health.

my only problem is that tendinitis is an inflammation and for it to be cured, requires rest.
The good news is that he will be off-court for at least a month after Wimbly but Rafael needs to be safer with his decisions if he wants to play tennis any longer. He can't bring his body to the edge every time because someday he won't be able to heal it back

Barb, Jelena! I went to visit my cousin. She made me promise not to look at the computer while I was there. It was alot harder than I thought.

Thanks for the link, Barb. I agree that going forward, that Rafa and camp should make smarter decisions about his health. They certainly do things and play tournaments that make absolutely no sense.

Although, I can't help be glad that he will try to defend his Wimbledon title. But, if I see that the time he has had off hasn't produce him playing some better tennis and if he is wearing his knee strappings, I might to on the side of wanting him to lose early, go home and heal truly.

On a slightly more light hearted note, have I told you guys how my uncle been taking all of this? Not well. He actually called me while I was out of town to rail against Roger having won. He's been trying for years to get me to hate him, but, I'm sorry he tickling me about all this. I'll tell him that Rafael will be playing Wimbledon, maybe that will get him to calm down.

Yeah, I'm a bit worried too, but I am definitely glad he'll be there.

I hope your uncle will be happy when he hears the news!

Yeah, he's a hoot! He trys to convince me that Roger is evil and I try to tell him he's a total Rafa fangirl. He only says straight guys only like Rafael because he plays like a true dude! Whatever, lol!

You guys, I'm slightly concerned about him too, but, I want to see him play first before I'm all like "The sky is falling!". For now, I'm taking all this physical stuff with a grain of salt. I watched Rafa's Rome and MC final against Nole. It made me feel TONS better!

Your uncle theory is the same reason why I started to support Rafa. He plays it like a man, with such energy and clutch that drives me crazy. Rafa playing is the hotter and the most mannish this sport ever seen

And I totally agree. Rafa has so many great qualities, but that's definitely one of the best things about him.

Yeah, my uncle is a manly american man who's favorite players were JMac, Jimmy Connors, and Andre Agassi. He said that Roger "ruined" man tennis. . Not male but man tennis.

So, after Roger became so dominate, he started watching women tennis. I asked him, "What if your male friends see you watching women playing tennis?". He says, "Just what it looks like. Alot of hot chicks running around after balls.". As a respectful niece, I choose and choice to ignore that and his increasing Roger hate.

But, he is....

It is nice to hear a black male defending Rafa. Sometimes I think that's the breakdown with men that dislike/hate Rafael. As a white, clearly english-speaking male, most identify with Roger. Unspoken this is and I probably shouldn't be saying it, but I truly think it's a factor.

So, that he supports Rafa so vocally, I tolerate his dislike of the "dandy".

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait...I thought he hated exho's? I guess he's thinking, though, if it could help him get ready for Wimbledon, it's worth it.

I personally don't like him on exhos but this is me, I feel he doesn't fit to the lack of real competition.
there is a tournament on London - which I think he should enter instead of the exho. If he doesn't feel okay physically he walks over of any match

He definitely doesn't have a real competition on exhos, but at least he's playing, we can't be picky right now. I hope he knows what's best for him atm.

Second page?! Bad us!

Well, I'm going to have to agree with you, Jelena. At least he is playing.

I think, in the past, Rafael has let his sense of competition get the better of him and his health. But, I feel he's learned from that. I'm sure his sense of competing is still sky high, but I think he too, wants a relatively average or longer tennis "careera",.

Barbara, is VB getting on your nerves? It is mine. There doesn't seem to be one thread their not talking about "you know" who. It highly annoying. It's like they don't know how to talk just about Rafa right now. Most people seemed to have congregated there to get away from all the "you know". I'm just not finding it the haven I thought it should be.
