He did play well in the second set. I was worried when Ivan had those break points in the 2nd but Rafa played great after that. Idk, I'm kinda convinced that he would've won if they have played the third set.
So, Feli in the semis. That's a surprise. It should be an interesting match.

To be real with y'all, I was in a really bitchy mood from word go. My favorite baseball team lost a close game last night and I was still ticked at Nole's match when Rafa started playing. I was barely paying attention. I saw that 4-1
score and just fumed.

Now my Dodgers are most likely going down 2 games to nothing and I'm resigned to it. My cool head is prevailing, though. TTC is replaying the matches of today. I'll watch it with fresh eyes. I do agree that had it gone to a third set, Rafa would have won.

ETA: My ball team came back from the dead in the 8th inning and evened the series! Y'all probably have no idea what I'm talking about! I'm just happy right now! Ignore me!

well I have no idea at all, C but congrats for your team
I hope Rafa can win tomorrow but I saw elsewhere that Feli is the ace leader on Shanghai. I hope his serve is off tomorrow for Rafa's sake. He doesn't need another ace machine on his way

Thanks for indulging me, Barbara! That's way I love ya! You don't scold me for getting off topic.

Feli the ace leader?! Seriously?! Think he'll give Rafa a hometown (or compatriot) discount? Oh, I'm sorry, that just means do you think Feli won't play as hard against Rafael as he had against the others? I hope not. If Rafa does meet Novak in the final, he'll need all the resistance he is given. I think it'll only make him sharper. The only hope I think he has against Nole is if Nole doesn't play as well. I hate saying that. But that's what I believe.

His match is on now.

anyway, Feli played a poor tennis than hurt himself in the last game of the first set, only to retire three games and a half later...
Rafa in the final, against Koyla, so no worries about Nole playing good or bad

I fear for Rafa... Koyla is on fire but anyway is better than Nole (the match-up I mean)

Yeah, I just finished watching it. I feel the same way about tomorrow. I am also concerned about Rafa playing Davy.

I wonder how hard it is playing against a friend? I know that Rafa's played against a few of his off-court buddies. But still...

I feel so bad for Feliciano. I'm not a fan of him, but I do feel bad because he's played well this week.

I hope it's a close game if...you know. Because you know what the haters are going to say. That Rafa only made it to the final because of all the retirements. Fact remains, he's there and the points would be much welcome. Plus, it was obvious that Rafa was NOT happy with the way things went. For all we know, he wanted the match to go the distance. He might have thought that he needed it.

Oh, well. The loveliest thing about the match besides them looking hot was Rafa and Feli conversation at the net. Rafa's such a sweetheart. He looked so worried. Play hard, Rafa. And please win. That'll go a long way to shutting people up!

well he has to play and beat a Davydenko that is playing very well. If he wins no one can take away from him that he beat a top10 player.

I need to go to VB to see what time the match starts. I'm currently watching my American football and baseball teams work hard at losing. I hate today.

My American College Football team won. Barely. By like, three points. My baseball team has gone into the 10th inning. Which means they are going to lose.

Well, thanks for telling me when the match starts. I haven't gone to VB since my games have started. Oh, yay. Here we go. Not far from going 2-0 are my Angels.

I hope our Rafa doesn't continue for this losing of my favorite athletes and teams. He's my only shining light.

This, yet again, is not looking good. I thought Rafa'd at least could take it to three sets. At 1-1 15-40, oh, now 2-1 to Davy, I'm not at all sure. This could be a quick affair. Looks like it would not have matter had Rafa played Kolya or Cilic in Beijing. Might ended up the same result.

Poor presentation from Rafa... he was lost and defensive. Kolya deserved it though.
Up to the next tournament

Barbara, why is VB disabled?

Can I ask you something? Historically, how is this much different from any of Rafa's previous end of the year, indoor hardcourt results? Yes, we know he's dealing with a crisis of confidence. So, did Roger last year. He snapped out of it, and Rafa's ten times as mentality strong. Roger lost Wimbly, Rafa lost RG. He can come back.

I mean, Roger lost to players he had never lost to before (Karlovic, Blake). Rafael has been losing to players that he has before and a player he met for the first time. I'm just not seeing the crisis.

Asides from the confidence issue, I'm choosing to believe this is not much different from any other year. Lots of players and people in general, go through lows. Doesn't mean they last. I feel after the season it over, he will have what I think he needs the most...a mental break without the stress of trying to come back from a injury. I think we will truly see where he is the start of next season.
