SWIZZLE! That's it! Chandler, we were doing the "snow plow" stop where you turn your skates like a snow plow when you ski, except usually just one skate as others have mentioned. The way it slides on the ice makes "snow." I was terrible at swizzles and stopping, but slightly less terrible at stroking. I need to check out the public skating sessions. There's one every weekday during the lunch hour and I wouldn't think there would be too many kids, but we shall see!

glad y'all like my icon! And yes, we do need a new one, but it might be a while because I think those were just taken last year because the olympics were coming up.

But we can hope!

I don't know, all this skating-mechanics stuff is weirdly fasinating to me, I guess because of the same reason Corey said in the last thread, that you don't think about how detailed/complicated every move is until you really examine it.

The front T-stop is the most sophisticated of all the stops. This one is commonly called a 'show stop'. T&S used it in Mahler when the 'mirror looking' into the future was taking place. If you stop within 5 feet, it is considered to be successful.
