OK wasn't expecting that, but I think Malisse is actually not bad on grass - at least he didn't lose to some Spanish clay court specialist. That would have been really bad.

Who ever could you mean? And Spanish? You couldn't just say clay court specialist, huh?

Not while Fed and Nadal are still around...hmm can't they both get injured at the same time?
Look, I haven't been here in a while, so I don't know you. But, this right here is going to far. Wishing injury on players is never a humorous thing, so....

Don`t wish that on Fed and Rafa
Thank you, HR! Hi, how are you, sweetie?! I haven't been around in forever, I know. I had to take a step back from my sports. I was getting much too preoccupied with the baseball and tennis. But, now it's World Cup time and I can't fight the fever.

Today, though, seeing that Nole lost gave me the urge to post here again. Oh, Novak. I just don't know what to think anymore. Maybe I'm just exaggerating, but these puzzling loses seem to be happening too frequently. I had such hope for him during the early hardcourt season. But, then he didn't have a good IW or Miami. So, I thought, since he had a great claycourt season last year (even though it ended in disaster), I thought he'd do pretty well. Didn't happen.

Considering recent history, I don't know why I expected him to make it to the final, but I did. Especially, with hearing Roddick (sorry HR) had gone out, I just assumed Nole would get to the final. I really wanted a title for him before going into Wimbledon. I thought it'd do wonders for his confidence. He should have won. I hate that I am, but at the moment I'm just a bit with him. I'm trying to temper my exceptations of his Wimbledon chances, but once the tournament starts, they begin to climb anyway. Well, it has not been fun being a Nole fan lately. But as with Rafa, I will continue to love and root for him.

Oh, and thanks, HotRod for posting those precious pics of Novak and his mom.

Oh, no! Mandela's granddaughter was killed in a car accident last night. What an awful thing right before the games. Condolences to the Mandela's.

a. I didn't mean anyone in particular with the Spanish claycourt comment - just that most Spanish players do tend to be clay courters. No so strange really.

b. Oh geez, I didn't actually mean that I wanted them to get injured - I would never actually wish that on someone. Lighten up a little, I'm not THAT mean!

But sheesh, if I'm gonna get picked on for making a couple of jokes, you may as well take me off the supporters list and i won;t post here any more. Like you said - you don't know me!

I can't take you off something I didn't put you on. And, no, please don't stop posting. I don't have to like what you post,, but it's nice to see Nole got another supporter here.

You say to lighten up, fine, I will. As you might can tell by my avie, I'm also a Rafa fan. And after the year he's had, I'm just a touch sensitive when it comes to injuries talk.

Anyway, like I said, please don't stop posting. We might need to be giving Novak all the support we can give him. I hope he's gone home and doesn't pick up a racquet until he hits the practice course of Wimbly. I think both my guys need some mental rest as much as physical.

BTW, I'm Christal and I'm really not as much of a bitch as I came off at first. Really, I'm not Just ask, HotRod! So, I'm sorry!

Sorry to interrupt the conversation, but here is an update on Nole`s doubles match from earlier today. He and Jonathon Erlich upset Wesley Moodie and Dick Norman 4-6, 7-6(6), 10-3. Good win for Nole. The match was pretty tough as expected, but he and Jonathon Erlich did a good job of stepping up their play when they had to get the win. I`m happy that Nole is still around at the Queen`s Club. This is a bite of redemption for him, although i still wish that he was playing singles. Nole really picked the wrong time to lose with all of the other players being upset.

Ok Christal - I was probably in my "I hate mornings mode" when I posted before too, so I'm willing to get over it, and I really didn't mean any harm. I actually didn't notice your avie, and while I'm not really a fan of Rafa, I don't hate him either. In fact there are very few players I really dislike.

So...back to Nole - how do we think he;s gonna do at Wimby? Hopefully much better than this week obviously, although it seems there have been a few upsets this week so maybe everyone is still getting used to the green stuff?

Umm have you read the following on the OP.

Everyone is welcome to discuss all things related to Novak as long as the discussion aren`t too dirty and negative toward Novak. We don`t put up with any Novak haters here.

If you don`t like Nole, please post somewhere else with your opinion.

On a much better note, Nole and Jonathon Erlich will take on Julian Benneteau and Michael Llodra in one of the semifinal doubles matches tomorrow. I really hope that Nole will do well in it.

Well it's good that he's still in doubles - at least it's a bit more match practice on the grass.

Yeah it`s always good to see Nole having more court time to get used to the grass.

Not even a hello, HotRod?

Thanks for willing to let bygones be bygones, Dutchiegirl. May I call you Sarah?

It's a pity that Nole loss when he did. Couldn't have gotten a clearer path had he asked for one. And I had forgotten all about the doubles. Well, at he's winning there. Do we know if his plans on going home before heading to Wimbledon?

As far as how far will Novak go into Wimbly, my heart says semi-final, but my head says quarters. For most players, a great result but for me as a Nole fan, it would be disappointing. I'm going to try and not be concerned about it and just enjoy watching him play.

Did someone actually come in here and say that Novak's a joke?! Unbelievable.

Sorry Chris i didn`t see you. I`m glad that you`re back with us. I`ve just added you to the Nole`s official FF supporters group, which is called Novak`s Djokers. Plus i included a nice pic of Nole and Rafa for you on the OP.

As for Nole`s chances at Wimbledon, i`m taking a cautious approach with him. His play in singles has been good lately, but nowhere near the high level that we`ve been used to seeing from him. If Nole can get a favorable draw, then i can see him making the quarterfinals at least.

Of course right now i`m focusing on Nole`s semifinal doubles match later today. I really hope that he will do well in it.

Lastly here is a special treat for all of the Nole and Rafa fans here, which is video of the chest bump at the Hit For Haiti event at Melbourne earlier this year.

Thanks for that, HR! I missed HFH. But, I think only me and Jelena were both Rafa and Novak fans. And she hasn't been around either.

Uh, Wimbledon. Novak. Everytime I start thinking about it, I get anxious. I've decided for as much as I can, I'm not going to sweat about his draw. I'll just hope for the best and the rest is up to Nole.

Thanks for adding me to the list, HR, and good luck to Novak with his doubles. I'm off to watch the US/England match.

You`re very welcome Chris. Glad that you love the video of the chest bump. I hope that Jelena will come back here soon.

Nole played his semifinal doubles match earlier today at the Queen`s Club and he and Jonathon Erlich defeated Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra 6-7(7), 6-3, 10-6. Good win for Nole. It was another tough match as expected, but Nole and Jonathon Erlich did a great job of stepping up their play in the super tiebreaker. I`m really happy for Nole is finally having some success in doubles. Tomorrow he and Jonathon Erlich will take on Karol Beck and David Skoch in the doubles final. I think this could be another tough match for Nole and Jonathon Erlich, especially since Beck and Skoch upset the top ranked team of Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic in the other semifinal match. Still this is a great opportunity for Nole. I really hope that he will do well in tomorrow`s match.

Anyway here is some pics from today`s match.
