NFL Pick The Winners 2020 Playoff Edition Conference Titles Round (deadline Sunday 3:05 P.M. EST)

NFL Pick The Playoffs Winners Conference Championships round 2020 deadline January 19th @ 3:05 P.M. EST

Welcome to the playoff edition of the 17th season of the NFL “Pick the Winners” game here at the Sports board! :wave For those who have played this game before, you know how the drill goes. If you are new to the game, it’s pretty simple. During each week of the season, there will be a thread posted with that week’s slate of games. It is your job to pick the winners of each match-up and place a point value on it.

At the conclusion of each week, we will add up the total points and crown a “Pick the Winners” champion. Over the course of the season, we will keep a list of the weekly champions and a running point total for each participant. At the end of the season, the person(s) with the highest point total and/or best record and/or closest to the actual score of the Super Bowl will be crowned the playoff winner. Sounds pretty simple, right? So, join in! If you have any questions, feel free to ask here.

Remember, you must have your picks posted by the deadline listed, so make sure to double-check to make sure your picks are correct before then. Also, once the deadline listed passes, your picks are locked in.

The rules are basically the same as the regular season, except there fewer games to work with. So there will be a slight change to the rules just for the playoffs:

There are 11 games in the playoffs, ending at the Super Bowl February 3rd in Atlanta.

4 Wild Card
4 Divisional Playoff
2 Conference Championship
1 Superbowl

11 total games, so everyone will get the numbers 1-11 to use.

As normal, In round 1, you pick the four winners, and give each of them a number as to the likelihood of that team's victory. for example:

Team A beats Team B (6)
Team C beats team D (10)
Team E beats Team F (2)
Team G Beats Team H (9)

Say you get the first three right, but miss the last one. You get 18 points. Now in round two, you pick again, but you have already used 6, 10, 2, and 9, so you can't assign those values anymore. And we'll keep a running tab on the values you've already assigned.

Team I beats Team A (11)
Team J beats Team C (4)
Team E beats Team K (8)
Team L beats Team H (7)

This time, you get the last two, but miss the first two. So now you have 33 points. And only the values 1, 3, and 5 left for the two semi finals and the Superbowl.

Do you follow?

Overall Standings

canflam: 35 pts. (5-3)
The Survivor: 33 pts. (6-2)
Hot Rod: 27 pts. (5-3)
Ms Cyatt. 25 (5-3)
Logan: 19 pts. (4-4)
Chasity05: 6 pts. (3-1)

Here's a list of our numbers left to use:

canflam: 1, 2, 3
The Survivor: 5, 8, 11
Hot Rod: 1, 3, 8
Ms Cyatt: 1, 7, 8
Logan: 1, 6, 9

As much as I feel San Francisco is the better team, with the veteran Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback it is very possible Green Bay could win

Great comeback by the Chiefs. Terrific season by the Titans. Their offence just couldn't sustain drives for the most part today. Tomorrow is M.L.K. Day & I probably won't be online much if at all, so please add up the totals after the N.F.C. title game today. If you also want to start the Super LIV thread then go for it, otherwise I'll start it on Tuesday.
