Jeff Garcia does not want him in Tampa.

I hate this Favre stuff so bad. I am a Vikings fan and if Brett ended up with us I would honestly throw up the first time I saw him in our uniform. Some Vikes fans actually like the idea because they feel that with him we would definitely be Super Bowl bound. It would be so disgusting if we won with him. I'd be happy but so miserable at the same time. I've grown up despising him my whole life! I can only imagine how it would be for the loyal Pack fans for him to show up on Monday night, opening day, in Lambeau Field with the Purple.

Wow that's like serious. How about Brett doesn't come back, that's the best.

Although all of this BS is just irritating, I'll take him on the Niners in a heartbeat.

As a Bears fan, I would find this absolutely HILARIOUS! It's not going to happen, though. If the Packers trade Favre, there is no way they would trade him to a team in the NFC North. They don't want to face him twice a year and possibly look bad doing so.

This whole saga has gotten out of control. I blame both sides. Favre has been playing the same old "I'm going to retire....maybe" tune for so many years. It's gotten old. In that sense, I don't blame Green Bay's management for moving on. However, the way they have handled this whole situation has been a PR nightmare. Ted Thompson has come off looking like an idiot! No matter what Green Bay does from this point on, they are in a no-win situation. For their sake, they need to make a decision and NOW. This is a major distraction that their team doesn't need.

If the Packers want to move on, then do it! Just trade Favre or go back on your stance and let him compete for his old job. Either way works, but stop letting this soap opera spiral out of control.

I think any fan would want Brett, I mean honestly. He's a hall of famer. Bring him to the Chiefs.

Seriously, Kathie.

It's just getting ridiculous.

So Brett's considering taking $20 million from the Packers to stay retired.

If the Packers pay Favre to stay retired, shouldn't it count against their cap? And isn't it against the Keyshawn-rule?

What rule is that?

Wikipedia explains it well:

Quote:
During Johnson's stay in Tampa Bay, his first name became a verb in sports talk radio. "Keyshawning" a player came to mean deactivating him while keeping him under contract. ... This practice came to an end in 2006, when the approved collective bargaining agreement prohibited teams from "Keyshawning" players.
So if Favre wants to be reinstated, and the Packers are paying him to stay away - isn't this a violation of this rule?
