| Yeah both were basically for the same price & IMO Shockey's value should be higher considering his age. __________________ | |||

| The 6th rounder in the Jason Taylor trade is for 2010. Shockey has been wanting out of NY for a while and he specifically wanted to go to the Saints to reunite with Sean Payton(Payton was the Giants' offensive coordinator when Shockey first started in the league). The Saints have been trying since a few days before the Draft to acquire Shockey, but the Giants wanted too much(the Saints offered their 2nd rounder, but the Giants also wanted safety Roman Harper in return; with the Saints' secondary still a question mark, the Saints refused). I'm glad the deal got done. It not only gives Drew Brees another target, it opens up the Saints' offense more(less double teaming of Marques Colston, Reggie Bush gets open more). Like I said, the secondary is still a question mark, but with Mike McKenzie supposedly ahead of schedule to return from the torn ACL he suffered in Week 16 last season, and the addition of Randall Gay, I think the Saints are back among the teams to beat in the NFC with Dallas. ETA: Jeremy Shockey gets to go to London for the 2nd straight year. __________________ LiveJournal Avatar credit: Wildfire Girl New Orleans Saints: (6-6) Last game: L @ Tampa Bay 20-23; Next game: Dec. 7th vs. Atlanta LSU Tigers football: (7-5) Last game: L @ Arkansas 30-31; Next game: Bowl | |||

| I was shocked about Shockey leaving the Giants but he hasn't been playing for sometime so I guess it was for the best. __________________ My Ny TeAmS: The Giants~Yankees~Knicks~Rangers~Jeter#2-Manning#10 Marcia~Kristin~Leona~BrOrson~DH one hundred episode Vote Tina Fey and 30Rock! I don't understand the hype about them after playing a last-place schedule last year. Stallworthless and Jurevicious is basically a wash, and despite adding big fat Shaun Rodgers they did lose one of their best corners. And Anderson fell back down to earth late last season. I think it'll be Pitt, then Cincy, and I'll be very surprised if Cleveland finish better than 8-8.__________________ "We learned more from a three minute record than we ever learned in school." | |||

| id give them a little better chance than that. they pretty much bought a new defence and and even if anderson starts to fall apart they still have brady quinn on the bench. | |||
