Mike Tomlin is a goddamned coward. he watched his kicker nailing field goals from 55 yards out in pregame and the were hitting the net which his 15 yards behind the goalposts, so they would have been good from at least 70.
So with not just the game but your entire goddamn season on the line 3 seconds on the clock and a choice between a kicker who has a better then 50% chance of hitting it and a qb with one good leg who's gonna have to throw the ball 60+ yards into the endzone and pray it bounces around and one of your receivers catches it. So what does Tomlin do? Of course he goes with the hail mary. And then gets his ass roasted and served up to on fine china with a side of butter ,mashed potatoes, corn and biscuits on the first play of overtime. If the Rooney's had any guts they'd fir Tomlin and get a real coach in there, but everyone in the universe would bleat and shriek RACISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I'm not going to take away Tebow's good performance, but the Steelers lost their mind on defense in this game.
Dick LeBeau is one of the greatest DCs of all time, but what he was doing still stacking 9 (sometimes 10!) in the box as the game went on, I have no idea. Even Tebow's going to hit guys left as wide open as Thomas often was. You just can't play that way in the modern NFL, against anyone. |
