If Jeter is fined it'll be such BS. The umpires have been crap all season long. All of them have been because all the games I've watched there have been mistakes and not just in Yankees games.

That was just stupid, Jeter was clearly safe but those umps are just so blind not to see that he was safe. I can see that those umps are not good this year.

Did you guys read the article though that Jeter said he argued with the guy and said that he wasn't tagged and the umpire replied it doesn't matter the ball beat you to the glove? WTF? That doesn't mean you're out! You're not out until you're tagged out.

That was the problem for me.

Bad calls happen (though far too often these days, which is why I anxiously await the day machines replace as much of their duties as possible), but what the hell kind of schmucks are MLB employing that they don't know basic rules?!

Exactly. Even the head ump yesterday said that if he really did say that then there has to be some sort of investigation because the rules used to be like that but that rule hasn't existed for years now and you can't be calling games and plays based on old rules.
