Darn, the Marlins gave me the happiness that MY Yankees didn't. *shakes head*

Good enough, my good friend IRod is going to the WS, and if Posada doesn't get to go, at least his favorite catcher is on his way already Ahhh, at least he is.

Kathie, babe. I'm heart broken for your Cubbies. But there's always next year, that'll never change.

If my Yanks lose tomorrow, I'll say the same thing to myself.

Sleep well, ball fans Spring Training is almost here

I want to send my condolences to all the Cubs fans. I hate that once again you had the thrill of victory snatch from you again. Once again you have to hear those same four words, which i won`t repeat, but i`m sure you know too well. Now the World Series won`t be anywhere as intriguing.

Thanks for the condolences, guys.

Well, this sucks. To go up 3 games to 1, and be *this* close to the World Series, only to lose, REALLY hurts. I have to say, though, I was more shell shocked and devastated by yesterday’s 8th inning debacle than what happened tonight. That pretty much was the writing on the wall, IMO. 5 outs away from the World Series, and the Cubs couldn’t get it done.

It’s easy to say that the Cubs handed this series to the Marlins (and boy do I feel that way), but I have to give Florida a lot of credit. They are a pesky bunch of suckers. This team knows how to overcome adversity and come through with big plays. They will pose a serious challenge to the AL champion. No doubt about it. With the likes of Cabrera, Pudge, Lowell, Beckett, Burnett, and Willis, the Marlins have a very bright future. For their fans sake, I hope Jeffrey Loria doesn’t screw with this team like Wayne Huizenga did with the ‘97 WS team.

It’s very depressing to be a Cubs fan right now. But, hey, nobody expected us to get this far. It was a fun ride. I’m just sorry they came up short. It’s hard to be positive right now, but it’s encouraging to know that the future for this team is potentially bright. The Cubs’ farm system is stacked with pitching, and this year’s run provides this team with a lot of experience. Hopefully, they can build off it in years to come.

*Sigh*

I know the feeling. You have no idea how many times I questioned Dusty’s moves, or lack thereof, throughout this series. Especially tonight. I could run off a long list of things that ticked me off about tonight’s game: Wood being left in too long, not using Randall Simon as a pinch hitter until the 9th inning, bringing in Dave Veres from the bullpen. I think what ticked me off most about his managing tonight is the fact that he didn’t treat this game like a do-or-die game. This was the season! How could you not have EVERYBODY sans Prior available to pitch tonight?!!!! Veres has sucked for the past few months. I knew right when he came in the game that he’d give up a few runs. Where was Zambrano, Clement, Cruz, etc.?!!!

The Marlins used three starting pitchers tonight, while the Cubs kept Wood in well after he was gassed and instead used a shaky bullpen. Florida did everything in their power to win. The Cubs making the playoffs happens once in a blue moon. Getting the opportunity to play in the WS? We’re lucky to see that happen in our lifetime. So, what the hell is Dusty doing sitting on his hands and resting guys for a WS appearance that never came? I don’t get it.

*One heartbroken Cubs fan*

Feel bad for Cubs fans.

Red Sox are going to do something for the little people today and pull off the upset.

I lost power and couldn't see the game last night!! Ugghhh!

If New York beat Boston today.

This will be called the..."No one gives a Sh**" series.

I mean really? who really cares?

You have FLorida, Management and ownership who decided to kill their fanbase and rip the hearts out of the marlin fans after winning the first WS, they totally destroy the team, and basically have 6 years of crap baseball, and got very lucky this year riding a couple of young pitchers...

Then you have New York, the evil empire...Can we try any harder to buy a world series?

Good lord.

We had a good season.

Hope the Yankees kill them, I say a sweep.
Sorry but I don't see Boston in the WS.

I feel her pain.

NOw I hate the Marlins and their fans even more!

''We're the darlings of the baseball world right now,'' Marlins Manager Jack McKeon said.

I totally disagree with that. The Marlins just sent the true "darlings of baseball" packing. The remaining contingent of people who aren't bitter, pissed off, or profoundly sad about what happened, probably couldn't give a ***** about the one-year-wonder Marlins now.

And if it ends up being a NY/Marlins WS...I doubt I'll watch with anything more than passing interest.

Well...They did it again, in true Cubs fashion. I think I'm gonna go kill a goat. Now I gotta wait another year. If not the Braves, why not the Cubs? Huh? Don't they deserve it?

I have to agree. If it's a NY/Florida match up, it's going to be boring. But I would rather have the Marlins win.

Ok, I understand being upset that the Cubs lost, but that's not the Yankees fault, why the hate? God... Just wait until we lose tonight and if we win, it's still not our fault the Cubs lost... Geez! The Yanks have nothing to do with the NL.

You either watch the WS or you don't... Last year the entire Playoffs/WS were a ratings bust, so no on will notice if no one watches Yankees/Marlins.

I'll be rooting for the Yanks but will be just as happy if the Marlins win the series.

If my Yanks lose then I'll still watch BoSox/Marlins and root exclusively for the Fish.

You couldn't get smaller than the "nobody gives a crap about them" Marlins and they just won.

No one's blaming the Yankees for the Cubs losing.

It's just that the general population is going to find a match up between the perennial winners (Yankees) and the third rate underdogs (Marlins) - boring. That's just how it is.

It's like how not many people would care about a match up between the Braves/Twins, Braves/A's, Giants/Twins...etc. It's nothing personal in that regard.

I agree, no one other than the diehards of said teams would really watch. The only match ups that people would have tuned in for were NY/Chi or BO/Chi maybe a bit more for Bo/ATL but since that is a yearly interleague series, it'd have lost it's luster as well.

Umm what are you talking about? If the Cubs would have won, I would still hate the Yankees. And what? You either watch the WS or you dont? Are you kidding me?

Please tell me that, since, if it would have been a boston vs chicago WS, it would have set a record for most watched WS ever. Its all about the match ups..if NY does win today basically only yankee fans and florida will watch.

Thats it.
