Yeah. The Angels are denying that a team employer gave Skaggs opioids. Here's a link to that story: https://www.foxnews.com/sports/tyler...drugs-eric-kay

Great win by the Astro today. They held the Yankees to 5 hits & won by a score of 4-1.

the downside about a season that goes until mid-late fall, games are more and more likely going to be affected by the weather, especially when youre on the east coast

astros yankees game 4 washed out

one thing for the season still being on, but they should really be in the world series by now

Weather affects most MLB teams I think that don't have roofs on their stadiums. If the Yankees got a retractable roof somehow as the Mariners do as an example, that would solve this problem. What a performance by the Nats vs. St. Louis. I wasn't expecting em to sweep.

not to compare it to cricket, but baseball is (a game you play in the summer months when its warm) and therefore an outdoor sport!

and no, you cant play when its bucketing down

Well my Yankees dropped the ball. Guess I'm rooting for the Nationals to win the whole thing.

Well, it starts in March & goes into the Fall, so it's played in different seasons of course. Just because weather can be warm in 1 place doesn't mean that it can't rain at the same time as well. From what I know of weather in New York, it tends to rain there. They get 47 inches of rain per year. That's 4 more inches than Portland does, which is the closest large city to me. I will say that having less games in the MLB regular season could perhaps help out in this regard.

What a game that was yesterday & some key numbers for a few of the Yankees batters in yesterday's game. Lemahiew, Judge, Torres, Hicks, & Encarnacion went a combined 3-21 at the plate. Those were batters 1, 2, 3, 4, &, 5 in the Yankees lineup. Of course the Yankees also couldn't hit with runners in scoring position.

Jose Altuve, Luis Gonzales, Edgar Martinez, & Bill Mazerosky from in the 1960 World Series are the only people to have a walk-off playoff series hit vs. the Yankees. I do remember the 1 in 2001 by Luis Gonzales & was a child when Edgar Martinez hit his, but Bill Mazerosky was before my time.

I'm excited to see this World Series. I hope that it's competitive. If you're a Yankees fan, well look to them having plenty of roster moves next year. Didi Gregorius of note is I'd guess at this point be playing with a different team. Gardiner perhaps also.

game 2 was interesting, it was a tight game for the first 6 completed innings (2 all) and then the nationals just blew it apart

its easy to lose a game of baseball. its a game where the defence has got to keep the reign on things for all 27 outs

Yes. Surprised that Washington won both games in Houston that's been played this this series. Good luck to the Astros. I wouldn't mind this series going 6 or 7 games if possible.

if only the game was like american football, where 'if you lose youre out'.

7 game series are just long and tedious

I don't mind. I mean since they play a long regular season I think it makes not to have a bunch of 1 game playoffs to determine the best baseball team. Now if they want to have more teams in like a tournament to determine the champs such as in I guess college baseball, then I'd be OK with that.

case in point: if the series was a best of 3, the nationals would have smashed and grabbed a series victory and a guy like juan soto would be seen as a 'flash in the pan', 'playoff specialist', and 'world series' star
but given that its out of 7, the astros just have too much depth and will prevail
