Kim has been doing well on her comeback tour, but lets hope that luck runs out vs JJ. I would love it if Alona could channel some of Kat's spunk from the other day and put down Serena, I have some hope as Alona has been doing decently well over the past couple of weeks.

I wish I could get to see Masha vs Lady Z, I haven't had the chance to really see extended play of Vera.

Well Alona was unable to follow duplicate Kat`s feat as she was defeated by Serena Williams 1-6, 4-6. Not much of a surprise there. However Alona had a golden opportunity when she got up a break in the second set, but unfortunately she was unable to cash in on it and was broken back in the next game. Then Alona lost the last two games of the match. While i`m glad that Alona was competitive for a set, it sucks that she was unable to make the most of her opportunity.

Meanwhile in doubles, Iveta and Barbora Zahlvova Strycova upset Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual 6-3, 6-3. Good win for Iveta.

She and Barbora Zahlvova Strycova delivered a very good performance in upsetting the Spaniards.

So that`s the story on the early matches in Toronto. Right now Aggie and Kat`s match is underway and it`s 2-2. Hopefully we`ll get a pretty good match between those ladies.

BTW i saw that there is no TV coverage of the Masha-Vera Z match here in the states. This is another example of the WTA`s crappy TV coverage.
