Glad that you decided to join the fun here and love the thread title. I hope that you come back here regularly.

Yesterday the latest rankings were released and Masha is now officially the #1 player in the world again due to Justine Henin`s shocking retirement last week. Right behind her is Ana and Jelena at #2 and #3 respectively. Like i`ve said before, it`s great to finally see at least three of our favorite hotties at the top of the rankings.

It`ll be interesting to see how things will play out with Masha, Ana and Jelena in the top 3. Of course they have to watch out for Svetlana Kuznetsova and Serena Williams, who are right behind them at #4 and #5 respectively. Also in the rankings, Anna has moved up to #6, while Dani is still at #10.

Meanwhile in Strasbourg, Flavia defeated hometown favorite Nathalie Dechy 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Good win there for Flavia.

Nice to see her comeback strong after losing the first set. Unfortunately it wasn`t all good news as Ashley was routed 1-6, 2-6 in her first match since Miami.

Obviously there`s a lot of work for Pebbles to do to get back to where she was before the surgery. Hopefully she can get a few matches under her belt.

So that`s the first update from Strasbourg.

Haven't had much time with some exciting game 7's in the NBA and preparing for the STP concert in Chicago on Tuesday, but a big contacts to Masha for becoming the new #1 again. She's had a great season so far, beating alot of top players and has earned this #1 ranking as she'd have taken it from Justine one way or another

Glad to see you back Chris. How was the STP concert? I still can`t believe that they`re back together.

In the latest update from Strasbourg, Alona defeated Edina Gallovits 6-4, 6-4. Good solid win for Alona.

It`s a nice start for her. Flavia will play second round match in a few minutes against another hometown favorite. This it`s Stephanie Cohen-Aloro. Hopefully Flavia can show some improvement from yesterday`s match.

So the concert is tomorrow night. I`m sure you used your connections to get the tickets. We need a report on the show.

As for the race for #1, like i`ve said eariler, it`s going to be very interesting to see how things will transpire with Masha, Ana and Jelena.

Also Flavia won her match against Stephanie Cohen-Aloro eariler today. Another good win there for Flavia.

Interesting draw with the hotties spread out for the most part. First of all Masha`s section looks pretty favorable early on, but could get much tougher in the round of 16 against either Makiri or Dinara Safina. Both ladies has been playing well lately and are very familar with Masha`s game. Since i mentioned Makiri, it looks very likely that she and Dinara Safina could meet up in the third round. Ana`s section in the lower half of the draw looks pretty favorable as well, although i think that she could get a tough match from the very cute Caroline. It`ll be interesting to see if she can rediscover the good form that she showed in going to the finals last year, which i hope will happen. Also i see that Alona and Nikki are in the same section together. I think that they could meet up in the third round, provided if Nikki can somehow get it together, with the winner of that match likely meeting Ana in the round of 16. A little higher in the lower half of the draw, i see that Jelena and Domi are in the same section and could meet up in the third round. I think that will be an interesting match to watch. Of course they have to take care of business in their early matches first. Meanwhile a lot of the hopes of France is on Alize, who has a very tough section with Gisela Dulko and Aggie there. However i think that she has a chance to get through with it. Alize obviously is coming in with a lot of confidence after the great run to the finals in Rome last week. So it`ll be very interesting to see how she will respond to all of the new found attention. Flavia`s portion looks good early on, but could very tough aftewards with a likely third round match against Venus Williams. However as has been said eariler, Venus is very vulenable on the red clay. So Flavia has a good chance should they meet up. She just needs to rediscover the good form she showed eariler this year. Also Anna`s section looks a little tougher than a lot of people think, starting with the first round match against clay court specialist Nuria Llagostera Vives. However i think that she has a chance of doing well there, especially with her good run in Rome last week. Meanwhile Vera Z has a favorable looking section early on, but could get much tougher if she meets up with Sybille Bammer in the third round. Also Ashley didn`t get any favors from the draw as she has Serena Williams in the first round.

Now that just isn`t right since Ashley is just coming back after the layoff from the ovary surgery. In fact it`s downright brutal

Hopefully she can give a good effort. We only got one all hotties matchup in the first round and it`s between Elena and Sabrine. Now that is quite a sexy matchup.

Hopefully we`ll get a nice competitive match between them. So that`s the story with the ladies` draw at Roland Garros. I really hope that all of our favorite hotties will do well over there. I have to admit that i`m very torn between wanting Masha to win the French Open to complete the career Grand Slam and wanting Ana to win her first Grand Slam title in Roland Garros. It should be fun to watch. BTW i`m sure you`re wondering why Dani wasn`t mentioned. Yesterday she officially withdrew from the French Open due to her heel injury. It wasn`t a surprise that Dani decided to withdraw. In fact i think that she`s doing the right thing in doing so to give herself more time to heal. Hopefully she can come back strong in the grass court season.

Wow, Serena in round 1? The tennis gods are not looking favorably upon Ashley. I also don't like that Team Russia is all stacked together in that top section. Who better to upset than someone you play with?

Concert was awesome last night, was rather cold (was at the outdoor Northerly Island Pavilion in Chicago) but STP put on an awesome show. Every song was on point an they started off with my 2 favorites - Big Empty and Wicked Garden. Toward the end, you couldn't even hear Scott singing since the entire crowd was singing Plush word-for-word. Well worth the 3 hour drive.

Yeah Ashley sure hasn`t had any good karma lately, which is such a shame, because she was playing her best tennis in a few years with her great runs at Indian Wells and Miami. I hope that the French Open is a stepping stone for Ashley to return to the good form she showed back then.

I also don`t like seeing so many members of Team Russia stacked together in the top section. I think it would`ve been better if at least a couple of them were in the bottom portion, where i think they could do more damage there, especially given Ana`s less than stellar play lately and the Williams sisters` vulernablity on the red clay, although i think Serena will still be a threat. I hope that we can get some good matches should we get some likely matchups between some of the members of Team Russia.

Also eariler today Iveta qualified for the French Open with a win in her last qualifying match. Good job there by Iveta for making the show.

Next up for her in the first round believe it or not is Nikki.

Now that will be an intriguing match between two of Team Czechoslovakia`s finest. I have mixed feelings about it. While i`m glad to see another all hotties matchup early, i don`t like that it`s between Nikki and Iveta. I really want to see Nikki start to get it together in Roland Garros, while it would be nice to see Iveta go on a nice run in a Grand Slam. I`m so torn about this. I just hope that we`ll get a good match between them.

I have to disagree with you on that wingster. I`ll admit that Maria`s face, while very beautiful, isn`t perfect, but at the same time, it`s much better looking than a lot of celebs IMO.

Masha seems more natural than most celebs, she doesn't overdo it try to over glam like Anna K usually did.

I noticed that as well about Masha. Her more natural look adds more to her appeal IMO. I wish some of the other hotties like Dani go with that look more often.

The French Open will get underway tomorrow morning and a lot of our favorite hotties will be in action. Ana will start out the day with her first round match against Sofia Arvidsson. Hopefully she can return to the good form she showed at Indian Wells. A little later on, Alize will take on Julia Vakulenko. Hopefully Alize can carry over the great momentium from her run to the finals at Rome last week and give the hometown fans something cheer about. Also Ashley will play Serena Williams, Caroline will take on Yvonne Meusburger, Domi will face Angelique Kerber and in the first all hotties matchup, Nikki will take on her good buddy and Fed Cup teammate, Iveta. As always i hope that our favorite hotties will do well tomorrow and that Nikki and Iveta will play a nice competitive match.
