My hopes of signing LO and Ariza have waned significantly.Trevor's agent is looking for a high pay day, one that I don't believe is completely warranted yet, that's no disrespect, that's a agents job afterall.

What do you girls make of this article claiming Artest is signing with the Lakers? I'm not sure how that sits with me if true.

Artest says he's signing with Lakers (UPDATE) - CBSSports.com

ETA-So it's confirmed. Artest is a laker apparently. I need to come back with my thoughts.

I see everyone is like freaking out on Twitter. I love this news. A lot. I think it helps our team so much. If Trevor is being an idiot and wants more, I'd rather give it to Artest. Do you guys realize we just signed one of the best forwards in the league, and ONE OF THE ONLY GUYS WHO CAN REALLY EVEN TRY AND DEFEND KOBE?

And now Trev is talking to the Rockets. If I was Mitch Kupchack: Keep Trev, and Peace out Lamar!

Sheila, I think I love the move as well, especially from a defensive standpoint. Our teams never have had issue scoring the ball, we just tended to get really lazy on defense at times. Ron sures that up imo,he's lock down on D.

I will disagree with you on LO and Trev though. LO is such a versatile rare type player that can offer himself at many positions. I believe he is far more valuable then Trev at this point in both their careers. Trev's current ability is a heck of alot more replaceable then LO. Sign LO first, let the Trevor chips fall where they may. I hear even with Ron signing Trev could still return(slim but not impossible), totally if he's willing to accept the first offer.

Maybe I'm being greedy but Trev/LO/Ron! Repeat fo' sure! BOOK IT!

I am still a little in shock about the ron thing. I don't hate it, I don't love it, I just don't know. I see the huge upside of him. But at the same time I am a little wary of it because ron does have some screws missing.
If Trevors agent was trying to play a game with the Lakers to get more money, I am pretty positive he just lost.

Sharon I agree with you completely about Lamar, I think he is the more valuable piece right now. And I would love for there to be some way to get Trev back as well. It's a nice dream at least

Definitely shockwaves

Aimee on LO! And while I do agree with you on Ron being a whacko at times, that's not always a bad thing. Plus I think this signing pretty much confirmed to us in so many words, Phil is coming back. Phil is the the freaking Zen Master, he reigned in that freak Rodman for many years. Phil is down to earth and he will flawlessly handle Ron all the while getting the best out of him. The man didn't get to the top of the coaching tier by being a fool!

All I need is solid confirmation in locking up LO and I can breathe. I will admit possibly losing Trev is sad, but I will deal.

true I mean craziness can be good at times but it can go either way. I know Ron can behave himself though and if he really does want to be in LA like he is saying I feel he will. This is true if anyone can handle Ron it is Phil, and I think Phil will be back.

getting confirmation on LO will make me very much relieved. I hope that we can get a confirmation soon. I don't want to lose trev but if I had to chose between one of them it would be lamar.

but as far as ron goes, I know it's mainly all speculation at this point but I like the 3 year contract rumors a lot more then the 5 year ones.

I don't know if this is good or not. I really don't. I mean is Artest better than Ariza? I think with this signing, we're pretty much letting go of Ariza...and that really sucks.

About LO, I have a feeling he might stay, because I really don't think there's anyone in the market that can really afford him. And this is why he isn't making as much noise. Plus, from Ron's statement, he made it seem like LO is staying, saying that his good friend LO is playing there and so on.

I think I agree with all of this, I love Trev but he allowed himself to play that game w/ his agent and he got burned. So I'd say yes, sign Lamar first, if Trevor wants to come back for the offer we gave him or even less then great, if not, we're still set

Well, there's really nothing else to do about it.

Breaking news on ESPN-Trev agreed verbally with the rockets.

Unofficial player swap

I admittedly feel bad for Trevor. He leaves the champion pedigree of the lakers for essentially the same money to join a sinking rocket ship with a broken motor,I don't get it. This is a case of a agent screwing his player. Very bad move.

there isn't and after whining about it for about an hour I just accepted it, I do think at this point in time Ron is better than Trevor and like Sharon said, he talked to Phil and I think that is important to keep him in check, if he keeps his attitude in check like with Houston than we should be good and yeah he's crazy but we just have to wait and see how this turns out but really right now its time to go after Lamar, not only for the versatility but the fact that when Pau or Drew sit down we're not giving up any quality whatsoever

I heard Houston offered him the same deal too,

If it ends up being for the MLE like rumors said I am going to be so upset he didn't accept that when the Lakers offered it to him.

I agree N.

I don't think he had a choice at that point though, I don't think Trevor thought they'd sign someone else to replace him, which is why he lost and figured no one else was gonna give him that money he wanted and he's probably mad at himself now

nothing to do now, give LO his 10 mill that he seeks and then move on to Shannon

Yeah, his agent really kind of screwed him here I think. I mean I thought he had tons of team pursuing him and offering him big money? ugh. I am glad at least it's not the cavs. I am sad about losing him but I wish him the best. Except for when he plays the lakers of course.

yes please, lets get them locked up and be done with all this.
