I'm Mercenary Fan@!

Deal with it.

Aside from College Teams, i don't have a ton of pro team loyalty. I'm loyal to players and subsequently, the teams they play for. It's just nice when the players i like play for teams i like.

Even teams i've historically hated, i've been a fan of, due to them acquiring one of my favorite players. I was a Yankme fan briefly, when they had Darryl Strawberry and Doc Gooden, and they owe ALL of there success to having them, as they won the first of recent championships with the Strawman, who with his veteran leadership, led the team in Homers that year and they got a ring. Also, The Fakers drafting Nick Van Exel. When they were young and coming up, Nick was the leader. Along with Eddie Jones in the backcourt, it allowed for a young Kobe to feel things out, work into the league and then emerge as a star, thusly enabling the Fakers to build a mini dynasty.

See, you know you love my way of thinking.

You are definitely a unique sports breed, Chris. I would like to call you a bandwagon fan, but that doesn't really apply since you aren't a johnny-come-lately who likes the latest hot team. You are more a fan of individual players than anything else, but not really within a team structure. Basically, you are loyal to favorite players but not teams. That's foreign to me. While I enjoy players from other teams, I'm definitely a homer in every sense of the word. To me, the team comes first and then the player. You seem to be the other way around. What a weirdo!

There are Teams that have been my favorites since childhood, those being the NY Mets, Calgary Flames, Portland Trailblazers and Chicago Bears, no matter that happens, deep down I still want them to win. Past couple years i've HATED the bears drafts, espcially knowing there was someone better at the position they drafting, and more importantly, someone better that I liked I mean, McNown and Grossman over Culpepper and Leftwich? That was crap. Though i did love Rashaan Salaam,... umm and YES i still have his Bears Jersey :dizzy:

Ugh! Don't remind me. I hated those picks! I think the Bears might have blown it again by passing on Mike Williams. Just watch. He will end up in Minnesota and put up HUGE numbers.

I can just see it happening now.

No diggity. You know Daunte had a big smile on his face when that was announced. The convo

Daunte "yo Mike, here's the deal, I get the ball and I count to 3, then i throw the ball as far as I can. You catch it and we'll be gold, you don't, you'll never get a pass from me again."

Mike "yes sir"
